Dean Dovecote paced the halls, biting his nail, anxiously waiting for his name to be announced.

"Dovecote," A tall, jet-black-haired woman said, reading off her paper. "Dr. Gaul will now take your request."

The dean straightened his blue tux, and walked through the vast doors, followed by the woman.

He walked down a row, which was surrounded by many oddities. Bottles of strange creatures and bones, all never seen before.

"Ah, Dean Dovecote," Dr. Gaul said, walking down the spiraling golden stairs. "You requested an audience?"

"Yes," The dean said, warily looking around at the tall pillars filled with deformed organisms. "I wanted to talk about the former dean."

"Oh, surely, you aren't threatened by a former dean. You are now the dean, no one can question you. You ascended to power after the 10th Hunger Games and established yourself. Although no one knows how you got the position, even I must say, I am impressed." Dr. Gaul said, staring straight into the dean's eyes.

"Never mind that," Dean Dovecote said, waving his hand. "I need you to find me Coriolanus Snow. Think of it as an eye for an eye."

"And why would I do that?" Dr. Gaul said, reaching into the glass full of snakes. "Unless...?"

The dean swallowed nervously, looking at the snake. "Surely you haven't forgotten my daughter, Clemensia?"

Dr. Gaul opened her eyes widely, clapping her hands together. "Oh my! I almost forgot about her!" She barked out a laugh.

Dean Dovecote looked away as the snake Dr. Gaul held hissed at him, threatening him. "Surely an eye for an eye? I suppose a trade for her life to regain order in the Capitol?"

Dr. Gaul turned around. "Coriolanus Snow? You want me to kill that poor boy?"

"Yes." The dean said sternly.

"I-"

A peacekeeper stormed in through the doors, breaking the sudden silence. "Sir! Word from the districts! Coriolanus Snow has been discovered! He is riding a train with the songbird."

"Ah, perfect timing!" Dr. Gaul said, clapping her hands together, carefully putting the snake on the floor. "The dean was just about to leave!" She watched as the snake smoothly slid down the stairs, slithering ahead. "I will see how you handle this situation, Dean Dovecote, and then I will decide whether or not I will help you with your...scheming."

Dean Dovecote backed away slowly as the golden snake slithered closer and closer. "Of course, Dr. Gaul. See you soon..." He turned his back toward the snake and Dr.Gaul, hurrying to get out. "Give me the reports on the districts, commander, the one I requested three days ago."

The peacekeeper nodded, pulling out a clipboard from his side. "Sorry, we've had our hands full with this recent...case."

"No worries, as long as you catch him." The dean said calmly.

Right as the doors closed, Dr. Gaul shouted. "Remember Dovecote, it's the things we love most, that destroy us." Followed by cackling as the doors locked shut.
