Part 42

Amanda was standing in the center of Alexandria with Rick, messing with the scope on a sniper. She had a blank stare on her face, lost in thought about the upcoming fight with Negans people. She didn't feel comfortable with The Scavengers, but she trusted Rick's judgement.
There was a loud creak, which made Amanda look up, watching as trash trucks came through the gates of Alexandria. She backed up, making room for the trucks to pass by. She looked over as Rick wrapped his arm around her midsection, kissing Amanda's head softly, "You alright?" Rick asked softly

Amanda nodded, looking up at Rick, "Nervous, is all." She admitted

Before Rick could answer, Jadis made her way over. She glanced at Rick and Amanda, "Is this yours?" She asked Amanda, motioning to Rick

Amanda was taken back, "Who? Rick?" She asked

"Yes. I lay with him once you are finished." Jadis said, curtly

"I will kill you before you even have a chance to unlace your boot." Amanda said, giving Jadis a polite smile, "I'll let you two chat over a game plan." She said, slinging the sniper onto her back,  "I'll be up there." She told Jadis, nodding to the top of a building, "Where i'll see everything. With this." She said, gesturing to her sniper, "See you guys after." She smiled, making her way over to one of the buildings

Rick watched Amanda, laughing softly, never having seen her jealous before. He looked over at Jadis, "You ready?" He asked, worry evident in his eyes

"We win." Jadis said

Rick nodded as he watched Amanda make her way over to one of the buildings. He squinted in the light before turning his attention over to Rosita, who held a detonator in her hands. Rick turned to look outside of the gates and he sighed softly seeing Negans trucks roll up
to the front gate. He watched, feeling his heart sink, when he saw Eugene climb out of the front of the truck.

Eugene climbed up the bed of the truck, standing up tall. He placed the megaphone against his lips before he spoke, "Rick, open the gate." Eugene said

"I'm afraid we can't do that, Eugene." Rick said, "We can't keep living like this."

"Rick, this is not a war you will win. People will die. People will die over your feud. Blood will be on your hands." Eugene said

"We know what the risks are. The pros outweigh the cons." Rick replied, "I'll give you one more chance to leave."

Eugene shakily put down the megaphone, looking up at Rick with worried eyes.

Rick glanced down at Rosita, nodding before he ducked down. He braced himself for impact, waiting for the home made bomb to go off. He glanced at Rosita after a moment when there was no explosion.

"Oh, Ricky!" Negan sighed, climbing out of the car, "You really think we're THAT dumb?" He asked, "That's cold blooded, I understand you wanting to kill me.. But Eugene? He use to be one of yours!" Negan laughed, "Rick, come down here, please. Let's talk civil." He sighed, climbing onto the bed of the truck, "I'd hate for anyone to die." He said, patting the top of a casket

Rick stayed quiet, eyeing up the casket cautiously. He knew Judith was safe with a friend inside one of the homes, Amanda was posted on top of a building and Carl was a few people away from him, by Michonne. He knew whoever may be in the casket wasn't his family, so he felt relaxed.

Negan opened the casket, jumping back as Sasha toppled out, falling on top of him, "What the fuck?" He shouted

Rick pulled out his python, going to shoot Negan, but was stopped by Jadis, who pointed a gun at him, "Down." Jadis said, curtly
