God. Amanda was never much of a religious person. Never believed in a higher power. Never believed in unconditional love. Until she met Rick, at least. But now, as she laid underneath the body of two armed men, their bodies battered like Swiss Cheese after a machine gun incident - she was starting to believe maybe God was on her side. She waited a moment before she crawled out from underneath the bodies, her head throbbing after being pushed to the ground so hard.

"Amanda. Amanda!" Ezekiel said, struggling to crawl out from underneath the mountain of brave men and women who sacrificed themselves for him.

"Ezekiel!" Amanda said, jogging over to him. She began grabbing bodies by their vest, throwing them to the side to get them off The King, "Can you walk?" She asked worriedly, seeing the state of his leg, holding her arm out for him to take

"I must." Ezekiel said, grabbing her hand, forcing himself to stand

Amanda grabbed his cane and passed it over to Ezekiel, "Here, come on, we gotta hurry." She said, grabbing her machete. She helped Ezekiel walk, basically dragging him away from a small herd of walkers that were once their close friends.

"Stop! Stop right there." A man said, holding up a gun, "You two.. you two!" He said, pointing his gun between Amanda and Ezekiel, "Come with me." He said

"You look like Jeffery Dahmer." Amanda said to the man

Ezekiel laughed, appreciating her humor in this moment

"Shut up, bitch." The man said, "I'm Gunther. You two? You two are worth so much to Negan." He laughed, "I'm gonna bring you to him. Dead or alive." He said, "He's gonna put your head on a pike." He said, taking Amanda's machete and Ezekiel's cane

"He needs that to walk." Amanda argued

Gunther laughed, "I don't care, carry him." He said, "Negans gonna be so happy to see you guys." He said

"You seem to seek his validation." Ezekiel said, leaning on Amanda for support as he walked

"Probably has daddy issues." Amanda noted

"Shut up, bitch. My god." Gunther said angrily, "Walk faster!" He shouted angrily, glancing behind them and seeing the small herd moving closer

"We're moving as fast as we can." Amanda said, holding onto Ezekiel's waist as she helped him move. She exhaled deeply as Gunther turned around to face them

"You know what, I'm not dying over you two." Gunther said, grabbing his gun. He clicked the hammer but before he could pull the trigger, there was a loud shout, before an axe went through the skull of Gunther

Amanda flinched, blood splattering her face. She opened her eyes, a wave of relief coming over her, "Jerry." She said, grateful to see him

"Your highness, we have to keep moving, we have to get you to safety." Jerry said, taking Ezekiel from Amanda's grasp and helped him walk

Amanda took Gunther's gun, jogging after the two men, "It's a dead end!" She said, seeing the giant padlock on the fence. She inhaled deeply as she watched Jerry attack the lock with his axe. Amanda turned around, holding her machete, "Jerry, keep working on the lock." She said, exhaling deeply as she swung at walkers who began to get closer

"There's too many." Ezekiel said, "Amanda, you will tire yourself out before you even make a dent."

"I have to try!" Amanda said, imagines of Rick burning in her mind. She swung at walkers, ignoring Jerry as he came over and began helping her. She felt her body grow weary from exhaustion, her muscles screaming in pain as she continued to fight against the never ending wave of her undead friends. Her machete blade went through the head of a young woman who had a tattoo of a cross on her neck. Amanda couldn't help but feel regretful, guilty for killing the woman. She was unsure why. She felt guilty that the woman most likely was hoping for a miracle that would never come.
