Nidha's POV:

The bright morning sun peaked in through the gap in the curtains, casting a light glow across my room. The warmth wrapped around me like a blanket and kissed me with comfort. Unlike the harsh winter of Canada, India's seasons were more bearable.

Jaira, with her little steps, tiptoed into the room, her eyes shimmering with an undiscovered secret.

Suddenly, she leaped onto my bed, bouncing like a ball of joy. "Wake up, Momsi!" she giggled, her fingers tickling my shoulder. Our laughter wove a melody, a familiar tune of morning delight.

With a stretch, I opened my eyes to meet Jaira's radiant face. "What's all this excitement about, kiddo?"

Her eyes sparkled. "I just went on an adventure!"

"Adventure? This early in the morning?" I moved some strands of hair from her face.

"Mhm, and I met a friend!" Her eyes shined with happiness.

Sitting up, I couldn't help but smile. "A friend? How so?"

She paused, biting her lips.

"Kiddo?"

"Well..." She looked around trying to escape. "I went out when you woke up. I went downstairs and I met a friend!"

"Kiddo..." She drew her smile into a pout knowing I was going to scold her. "Okay, who's this friend?"

Jaira shrugged, her curls dancing with the morning light. "I dunno, but he's really strong! He was doing cool exercises!" She lifts her hands above her head to reenact the workout. "He looked familiar too..."

I let out a chuckle as Jaira continued imitating her new friend. Knowing her she probably thought he was one of the heroes from her movies.

We slowly started our morning as Jaira went to go and wake up Shraddha, she bounced off of my bed and skipped over across the hall.

As Shraddha left for an investor's meeting later in the afternoon, she asked me to watch over Jaira for a bit. The grand yet cozy penthouse felt like a canvas for our adventures as Jaira listed countless activities for us to do.

Hours later, our organized unpacking had shift into a playful banter through the living room. "What should we do, kiddo?" I asked after we had run out of rooms to dance in.

Jaira pondered, her expression serious. "Hmm, let's go on an adventure!"

Our 'adventure' led us to a charming ice cream shop down the road from the complex. Although sugar before dinner was a big no, I couldn't help but agree with the puppy eyes Jaira made.

The bell above the door chimed as we entered, greeted by the sweet scent of various flavors.

Jaira and I settled down into the booth waiting on our order.

My phone buzzed in my pocket as I looked at Jaira's little hands working on a puzzle.

Leaving the booth, I picked up the phone. "Hello?" I answered.

"Hi, am I talking to Nidha Kaur?" The woman's voice on the other end inquired.

"Yes, this is she. How can I assist you?" My curiosity mingled with a growing excitement.

"Hi, Dr. Kaur, this is City Hospital calling about a job application you sent us," the voice continued.

"Yes," I affirmed, a surge of anticipation coursing through me.

"Well, we were wondering when you were available for an interview?" The question hung in the air, as my heart thumped with excitement

We navigated through the details, settling on the next Monday for the interview. Delight filled me; it was time to share the good news with Jaira.
