APOLOGIES

It's sadly the end of winter break, Travis dreaded going back to school. He didn't want to face everyone, he didn't want to face the teachers who looked at him like he was a disgrace.

He hasn't gone over to Sal's apartment since Christmas, he's tried to not think about it but he couldn't help it. He still has his job, it was supposed to end after the break but his father supposed it should stay, probably to heighten up Travis's growing hysteria.

He walked through the halls with the usual blank expression stuck to his face, his bag over his shoulder, reaching his locker and pushing it inside. He couldn't help but notice all the kids, how they all look the same.

"Yo, Travis!" Phillip called out only a few feet a way from the blonde, making him smile as he came into the presence of his best friend.

"Hey." Travis responded with a slight smile, showing some sort of appreciation towards his only friend.

"Why weren't you at school a couple weeks ago?" The blue haired boy asked confusingly, his red and black stripped sweat shirt becoming noticeable.

"Got into a fight with this kid, Austin, he wouldn't stop pissing me off." He grumbled the last part, rolling his eyes as he continued to take things out of his locker with need.

"Oh shit, so that's why his face was all fucked up? Good job man, snobby guy deserved it." He laughed, walking beside Travis to their first and only class together.

"So what did your dad do about it? I'm assuming he got mad at you for it, even though you were in the right." Phillip supposed, seeing as Kenneth only tries to find a reason to hurt his son.

"He was pretty upset, called me a disappointment here and there, but then he forced me to get a job, as a punishment. It's way better to scrub floors then to stay in the same house with my father for weeks on end." He let out a sigh, he wished he could just get a break for once and just relax.

"Not surprised." The two walked into class and sat down, Travis instantly getting to work to avoid gazing at another certain blue haired boy, one that he wasn't sure of if he was fond of yet.

He felt as if eyes were staring at the back of his head, he couldn't help but feel paranoid as of being watched all the time.

It finally reached lunch, one of the only breaks Travis gets in a day where he can just sit down by himself and not worry about anything.

This time he didn't stand in line for food, he just sat down and read a random book he found on the ground.

"Hey." Travis flinched at the sound of a random voice coming from his left, quickly looking up for the appearance of the mysterious voice to be none other than Sal.

Travis let out a relieved sigh; "damnit, Sal, don't scare me like that." He spoke in annoyance,

"Sorry." Sal apologized in a mutter, honestly not expecting to scare the boy that much.

He sat down beside the blonde, knowing he needs to talk to him, just trying to let the words form into his mind before he starts rambling, and before they sit in silence for so long it becomes awkward, not that it isn't already.

"So.. Remember how you apologized to me, awhile ago?" Sal spoke up randomly, Travis hummed in agreement, "what about it?" He asked questionably, not tearing his eyes away from his book.

"I want you to prove it." He spoke in a bit of a rush, Travis could just tell he dreaded his irritated response.

"I haven't beaten you up, have I? Haven't yelled at you, insulted you, called you names, incase you can't tell, I'm really trying here." He finally looked at the blue haired boy with the look of annoyance sprung onto his face.
