Sorry for not posting on Sunday, I was at a ball the night before and totally forgot the next day (probs because of the hangover 🤕) Anyways here's the update ☺️
Lucy's POV:
After breakfast, I headed to the gym to do some recovery. Charlie walked beside me and while i did some floor exercises, Charlie swung from the pull-up bars. Keira came in not long after, walking with Ellie beside, holding tightly onto Keira's hand. I lay on my side as I rolled my knee. They came over and Ellie let go of Keira's hand and clambered onto my lap. "Mumma", Ellie babbled up at me, looking up at Keira, as if to tell her I was here. Keira squeezed my shoulder and then asked me "are you almost ready to go for a boat trip with us ?". I nodded and looked around to spot Charlie talking to Mary and Jess, who were doing some weights. "I'll go get her", Keira said, looking over at Charlie.
I finished my exercises and listened to Ellie as she babbled up at me, checking every so often to see if I was listening. I didn't understand most of what she was saying but what caught my ears was when she babbled "bad dream", in a sentence that I couldn't grasp. I leaned down and gently asked "tell mumma about your bad dream again". Ellie looked up at me and frowned, and then mumbled "all sleep mumma". I had stopped with my exercises at this point and just sat on the floor listening to Ellie. "Every time you go to sleep, you have a bad dream ?", I gently asked, pulling Ellie closer onto my lap. Ellie nodded and then turned and buried her face in my chest. I rubbed my hand up and down her back, and then asked "what happens in your bad dream baby girl ?". Ellie looked up at me and grabbed my hand to fiddle with my fingers, "you and mama leave me" Ellie muttered, not looking at me. I quirked her chin up at me, so that she was looking at me and told her "me and mama will never ever leave you, we love you so much". Ellie just looked at me and I smothered her face in kisses, causing her to giggle.
Keira and Charlie came over having been catching up with the other girls who had slowly joined us in the gym. I stood up with Ellie on my hip, and followed them out to the reception, where we met up with Georgia and Leah. Leah led us to a little dock, where a boat was tied up. Beside the boat was a bunch of life jackets, including a baby one for Ellie. I sat down on the dock with my feet in the boat, and took the life jacket from Keira, and quickly managed to wriggle Ellie into it. Ellie seemed fascinated at what the life jacket was, and fiddled with it. I kept my feet hanging over into the boat, and held out my hand for the others to hold onto while they got into the boat. G got in first and Leah followed. Keira was a bit more apprehensive, when the boat slightly rocked, but we all assured her it was safe. Keira gingerly climbed into the boat, holding tight onto my hand, and then sat down. Charlie was the complete opposite of Keira, and ignored my hand, and climbed into the boat. I held Ellie out for Keira to take. Keira took her and settled her on her lap. I untied the ropes and took the oars and off we went.
We floated down the river and Leah put on some music. G chatted to Charlie about the times she went on a boat fishing. I listened as Keira pointed out different things to Ellie, who sat on her lap, looking out and pointing out every tree she could see to Keira. Charlie then stood up, and said "photo time !!", we all sighed, but Charlie persisted. I moved beside Keira and Leah and Georgia sat beside each other. Just before Charlie could take the photo, Ellie wriggled off Kei's lap, and quickly made her way over to Leah, and clambered onto her lap. Keira frowned and then looked over at Ellie and asked "do you not want to sit with mama ?", Ellie giggled and shook her head. Keira frowned and I piped up "don't worry Kei, I'll sit with ya". The others chuckled and Keira sent me a smile. "Excuse me, we still have a photo to take", Charlie piped up We all posed for the photo and Charlie grinned before saying "it looks good, but it would look ten times better if I was in it, but anyway". We all rolled our eyes at her. I steered the boat back to the dock, while Kei, G and Charlie chatted amongst themselves, and Leah sat with Ellie on her lap, talking nonsense to her.
Once we were walking back to the hotel, Charlie came over to me and asked "You know after the Euros, when will you be leaving for Barcelona ?", I slung one of my arms over her shoulders, and replied "I'm not quite sure yet, I have to sign my contract and find somewhere to live, somewhere that will fit all 4 of us". Charlie nodded and then asked "can we find somewhere with either a pool or near the beach ?", I smiled down at her excitement of the situation, "we can definitely try". Charlie nodded and then said "I'm excited to see you play for Barca, but I'm a little nervous of how it's gonna work out". I nodded and replied "thank you for telling me. I'm excited to play with Barca, but don't you worry about how it'll work out, me and Kei will make sure it works out". Charlie grinned up at me, and we followed the others back into the hotel.
As we were sat down eating dinner, Kei's phone rang and she picked up. She immediately stood up and headed out of the dining room. Charlie looked over at me curiously. I shrugged my shoulders, not knowing who was calling Keira or what it was about. Keira returned about 10 minutes later, and quietly sat down beside me again. She leaned over to grab the jug of water and quietly said "we need to have a chat after dinner". I watched as she poured her water and then took the jug from her and poured my own glass. I leaned over, well aware of the toddler in the high chair between us and quietly asked "is everything ok". I fixed Ellie in her chair and tried to encourage her to eat the yellow peppers on her plate. Ellie didn't seem to like the look of them and instead picked up the red peppers. Keira pulled out her chair and picked up her empty plate and then picked up mine and whispered back "it's good news don't worry". I smiled and watched as she walked away, with Ellie's bottle in her hand too. I turned back to Ellie and she seemed to have finished her dinner, she looked over when she noticed me looking at her. She started squirming and wriggling in her chair and I picked her up and settled on my lap. "Mumma ?", Ellie asked looking up at me. "Yeah ?", I replied, wondering what she was going to ask me. "Bobble ?", Ellie asked, looking around. I grinned at her question. "Mama is making your bottle right now", Ellie smiled back up at me and cuddled closer to me. I saw Keira walking back to the table and I stood up with Ellie in my arms, "I'm gonna get her into her pjs", I told Keira, who nodded and hid the bottle from Ellie.
On my way I nudged Charlie, and asked her if she wanted to get into her pjs too. Charlie agreed and the 3 of us headed upstairs. I changed Ellie into her pjs and Charlie changed into hers. I walked with Ellie beside me, making sure to get rid of any energy out her, and we headed into the chill room, where I spotted Keira sat beside G and Tooney, with the bottle beside her. I walked over with Ellie holding my hand and once Ellie spotted Keira she let go of my hand and rushed over to Keira and clambered onto her lap. Keira chuckled and picked up the bottle and handed it to Ellie, who immediately started drinking from it. Keira gently placed Ellie on Leah's lap, and then took my hand and led me outside to a bench. "I've got some good news", Keira said looking over at me, with a smile as we sat down on the bench.
