Double update week 😁

Lucy's POV:

Once we got to the airport, I had the job of keeping Ellie awake until we got to the hotel in Sheffield.  I walked her through security and then we walked at the back of the group to the plane.  That's when I knew I would struggle, because she has always slept on planes, thankfully because I don't think anyone would want to be on a plane with a screaming and fussy toddler.  I held her hand as we climbed the stairs, to avoid carrying her because she would probably fall asleep in my arms and that was what I was avoiding.  We got onto the plane and started making our way down the aisle, passing everyone, which woke Ellie up a little as she said hello to everyone.  Once we got to our seats, I spotted Charlie and Leah sat behind us.  I stood Ellie up on her seat, so she could babble to Charlie and Leah, while I got our bags into the overhead locker and got myself situated.  I looked around the plane to find Keira.  I spotted her sat a few aisles behind us, next to Georgia.  I knew I might need her with the hard job I was going to have keeping Ellie awake, especially since Ellie's dummy was in Keira's bag.  Before I sat down, Keira sent me a smile and mouthed "good luck", I shook my head as I sat into my seat, gaining Ellie's attention, as she climbed onto my lap.  I immediately started pointing things out the window asking her to tell me what they were, "car", "airpane", Ellie called out as we waited for takeoff.  I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked over to see Charlie smiling at me nervously.  I patted the empty seat beside me and Charlie instantly plopped herself into it.  She leaned over and Ellie turned around squealing having spotted Charlie, as if she hadn't seen her in years when it had only been about 10 minutes.  Charlie started tickling Ellie, causing her to squirm and wriggle on my lap, which I didn't complain about, because she was awake.  After Charlie stopped tickling her, Ellie started looking around the plane, even pulling herself up to stand on my lap, as she looked around at everyone.  That's when Charlie leaned over to me and said "I have a question".  I looked to see her nervously biting her lip, a habit she had gotten from Keira.  I nodded, letting her continue when she was ready.  "I... uh.. was wondering... what you'd say ... if I asked to ... uh... ask ... Keira to ... uhm ... adopt me ?", Charlie struggled to get out.  Once I heard the question a huge grin spread on my face, and I pulled Charlie into me, kissing her head multiple times.  "I would love for that and Kei would love too", I replied speaking quietly so no one could hear us.  Charlie grinned at me and then continued to explain  and I promised her to call my lawyer when we got to Sheffield, so we could get the papers for Keira to sign.  Charlie mentioned she wanted it to be a surprise.  My heart was bursting, Charlie wanted Keira as her official parent, not that for the past few years Keira hasn't stepped up in helping me to look after Charlie, especially when she didn't have to.  But now Charlie wanted to make it official and I knew for a fact Keira would be over the moon.  Charlie then looked up at me and whispered into my ear "I want to change my surname too".  I nodded instantly understanding and pressed a few more kisses to the top of her head.

Just before takeoff, Charlie went back to her seat and I sat Ellie down on my lap, and tried to entertain her.  As we took off, the tears started to fall as Ellie was starting to get cranky and all she wanted to do was sleep, but of course I was doing my best to avoid that.  Once the seatbelt sign went off, I started walking up and down the aisle, with Ellie in my arms as I tried to calm her down.  I stopped next to Keira and Georgia, and held out my hand.  Keira instantly knew I wanted the dummy.  She shuffled through her bag, as I stood swaying, trying to comfort Ellie who was still crying.  Keira handed me the dummy and I showed it to Ellie, who opened her mouth instantly.  She quietened but there were still some whimpers to be heard.  I sat back down and pulled out my iPad, turning on some show that she liked so she could watch that.

The plane journey flew by and we soon touched down in Sheffield.  Everyone quickly got off the plane, and headed for the bus.  Ellie stayed in my arms, watching the show on my iPad.  Thankfully she hadn't fallen asleep, and there hadn't been any more tears spilled.  We quickly arrived at the hotel and got ourselves settled in.  I grabbed Ellie's blanket and her stroller and carried her to the pitch, so she could sleep while we trained.  Charlie took the iPad and played her own games, while Ellie slept beside her, and we trained.

We got the rest of the evening off, and we all headed for dinner.  I looked into the stroller to see Ellie awake, with new tear stains.  I picked her up out of the stroller and settled her against my chest.  I showed her some of my dinner and she picked up some of the carrots on my plate.  I pressed a kiss to her forehead while she ate my carrots.  Keira came over on her way to return her plate and raised her eyebrows at the tear stains on Ellie's cheeks.  I looked up and quietly said "I think she might've had another bad dream".  Keira sighed and headed to get rid of her plate and make a bottle for Ellie.  Once I had finished my dinner, Demi took my plate which I thanked her for and then I stood up with Ellie in my arms.  I pushed the stroller back to our room and got her changed into her pjs, which Charlie quickly did too.  Charlie grabbed one of my hoodies from Keira's bag, and we made our way back downstairs, for some team bonding.  Keira met us just outside Millie and Rachel's room, where everyone was meeting up in.  "Mama", Ellie muttered, reaching her arms out to Keira.  Keira took her quickly and I held the door open for them.  Charlie hopped onto Leah's lap, who had claims done of the few seats in the room, while Alex, happily gave up her seat on the bed, so Keira could sit down, and give Ellie the bottle.  "Thanks Alex", Keira said to Alex, who waved her off and replied "not at all".  Me and Alex shoved Tooney and Lessi off the other bed.  The two of them ended up on the floor, much to their annoyance.
