Season 5 x 06
Parabiosis

i was helping the man off the street lift quinn up. he wanted to take him to his house.
the man pulled a scarf out from his pocket.
"you need to put this on" he said
i did so, wrapping the scarf around my head.
"where did the blood come from?" he asked, pointing to the bag of blood that hung down from quinn's arm.
"it's mine"
he opened the front door of his apartment building. it was dark and loud in there.
quinn's arm was slung around my shoulder, i held onto his waist.
at least now, he was in and out of consciousness.
it seemed like some sort of party was going on in this house. he snuck up a set of stairs, entering a room with two beds.
"you're a doctor?" i whispered, helping quinn onto one of the beds.
"yes" the man nodded
"i'm a nurse, i can help" i said

it was the morning after last night. quinn had opened his eyes.
"hey" i smiled, bending down to look at him.
"cass?" he asked
he looked lethargic.
"yeah, you're okay"
"what?"
he looked under the sheets.
"you got help" i whispered
a few hours prior, i helped the man off the street give quinn more blood and sew him up. we put a draining tube in him and stopped the infection that was beginning to happen.
i spent a couple hours hiding in a closet from the men downstairs. i guess, they were dangerous. at least that's what the doctor said. it didn't help that these walls and flooring were paper thin.
i stood up, putting the headscarf back on.
then, i took my bag and swung it over my shoulder.
quinn shot me a worried look.
"cass, where are you going?" he asked
"it's not safe for her" the man said, standing in the doorway
"don't go" quinn whispered
i walked back over, above his bed.
"i'll take care of you once you're out" i whispered, stroking his hair.
"you're going to call me, okay?" i nodded
he sat up
"quinn, get some rest" i hushed
"come here" he whispered
i nodded, leaning toward him.
"you can't go?"
"i have to, quinn"
"it's not safe out there" he whispered
"i'll be okay"
he shook his head
"it's not safe in here either"
"cass"
"quinn" i smiled, stroking his cheek.
"i have to go now"
"i'll be back for you"
i stepped back toward the doorway.
the man took my arm, leading me down anotner set of stairs behind a bedroom.
"go, i'll distract them"
"sir" i said
"thank you so much" i smiled
"go on, dear" he hushed
i opened the door up, slowly stepping down the stairs. they led me to a back alley.
i had no idea where i was, though.
