Season 6 x 03
The Covenant

i ran up the stairs after i heard quinn let out a scream.
as fast as i could, i went into our bedroom and sat on the bed. he sat up, hyperventilating.
"hey" i smiled
"it's okay" i added, wrapping him in a hug.
he must've had a nightmare.
"deep breaths, okay"
i rubbed his back up and down.
"in"
"and out"
"you're safe with me"
he took another deep breath, wrapping my torso tightly.
he dug his face in my neck, i felt his breath on my skin.
"are you okay?" i asked
his hand trailed down my upper back, to my lower back.
"quinn?"
i took my hand and placed it on his neck, pressing my lips onto his forehead.
"i need to shower" he mumbled
"i can help you do that" i nodded
the other day, i found out his hesitation toward showering, it brought back all his ptsd.
"do you wanna eat something first?"
"yeah" he sighed
———
i finished helping quinn shower, he had gotten dressed in fresh clothes and sat downstairs, flipping through channels.
i brought down the baby carrier from upstairs and put it by the front door.
"you planning on giving birth soon?" quinn asked, raising an eyebrow.
"she could come any day now" i shrugged
i tossed a bag full of supplies by the door too.
"if feels like her head is popping out of me" i panted, sitting on the couch next to quinn.
"that's why you don't want to-" he smirked
"yeah"
"wanna do something?" i said, looking at him.
he looked at me.
"i don't know"
"do you still feel nauseous?"
"no"
"good, all that shit is out of your system"
the drugs he smoked and the drugs that the rehab centre pumped into his system were finally cleared out. he was acting more normal now.
i stood up, going into the kitchen.
"no wonder you didn't like that place they had you logged on so many dru-"
"cass?"
"yes, quinn?"
"sit down" he smiled
i took a few steps back to him, sitting back down.
"can i?" he asked, pointing to my belly
"of course" i nodded
he put his hand on my stomach, i held onto his other one.
"you feel her?"
"yeah, i do" he smiled

"what do you see out there?" i asked quinn, he stood against a window with binoculars, looking across the street.
"that man" he said
"across the street?" i asked, trying to see what he saw.
"he's watching us, cass"
"you sure about that?"
"he's walking around, probably on the phone"
"you think i'm crazy"
i shook my head "i didn't say that, quinn"
"cass, you gotta believe me"
"something isn't right"
"alright" i nodded
"i believe you" i shrugged
——
i was in pyjama pants and my hair was messy, tied up in a bun.
i zipped up a coat, locking the house.
"where do you want me to go?"
"give me the keys"
"i'll chauffeur you" i insisted
i got into the car, so did he.
"okay, go down the street and take a left" he pointed
a couple minutes later, we pulled to a apartment building. quinn got out of the car.
"i'll be right back" he said
i sighed "wanna tell me where we are?"
"cass, stay here" he said
i got out of the car anyways, following him.
"why?"
"because this is unfinished business"
"what do you mean by that?"
"i don't know"
"it might not be safe"
i rolled my eyes "yeah well this person can choose their battles wisely, either the stroke victim or the pregnant lady"
"i need to defend you"
"what do you mean?"
"what if someone is trying to hurt us?"
"what are you saying?"
"no one is hurting us" i shrugged
"we have an alarm system and two locks on our doors"
he titled his head
"there's one of your old guns in a safe at home"
"what?"
"i brought it home from berlin" i mumbled, reluctantly.
i didn't want to tell him that.
i rolled my eyes "don't even think of anything stupid, peter"
"let's go home, cass" he sighed
