part 17: Unleash the beast

TOMORROW MORNING..
10:55AM..

"WE'RE READY!" A tank gunner yelled out.

"Everything is working fine, gunner is ready, loader ready, and driver is good to go, we're green, we're green!" A tank commander yelled out on the other abrams tank.

"Good to go! Alright everyone standby!" Alex said.

Alex's recon squad couldn't join in for the mission and just helped out alex on some stuff while he was readying his gear. "Commander.. break a leg.." Johnathan said to alex.

"Oh i bet ill break one." Alex climbs on the turret of the abrams, "alright wait for the titan to arrive and we're set to go!"

"Titan?" Simon asked.

"The colonel has requested to bring in a titan.. you know, those mechs?"

"About damn time we'll see what you're saying about.. where are they now?" Emily asked while checking the abram's tracks.

"On the skies.." jake said looking at the sky in the distance.

"Holy..." Gregory looked up in shock before the others soon followed also expressed the same emotion of shock and awe.

A super stallion carrying a 9 foot mech, an actual mech, the marines couldn't believe what they are seeing, they would never expect an actual mech made for combat to be created since it is basically a walking red target for tanks in modern combat and will be extremely fragile no matter how armored it can be since it has alot of weak spots. But mechs in this kind of battle against fantasy creatures then it is damn effective since tanks dont have arms and when its out of ammo then the only thing it can do is to run over anything small until its fuel depletes.

The helicopter dropped the titan down with the driver already inside, the titan came to life swinging its arms freely and walking so effortlessly since it was mimicking the movements of the the person who is operation the mech.

"You we're not lying.." john said to alex.

"Never did boy.. i never lie.." alex said a little sarcastic.

The titan was with 4 abrams tanks and 2 blackhawk helicopters with both filled with marines and an AH-1Z viper for air support, this time the newly arrived vipers for the marines will be helping out marines and army troops, the marines have been using apache's even though they were made to be used by the army and its actually the first time the marines were using AH-64 apache helicopters, the reason is the U.S wanted to use a less expensive attack helicopter because in case the skies on falmart were more dangerous than expected loosing 1 or 2 apache's isn't gonna be such a costly lost than a viper which one costs 6 apache's but since the air is only filled with wyverns and large bats and they are very fragile that even a normal rifle can penetrate their skin but only the soft parts especially the belly.

"Im ready commander.." the driver of the titan said to alex.

"Alright, components are ready, check the gun.. alright we're all set, we're moving out people!!" Alex yelled out closing the hatch of the abrams but before that he looked at his squad, "wish me luck.. ill probably get my ass stomped by an ogre but ill try not to.."

"Goodluck commander.." jake said, alex closed the hatch and head out with 3 M1 abrams behind him while up above the blackhawks were heading first to their designation which is a forest where the ogre was spotted and is still roaming around caught by a recon squad.
