I'm genuinely so excited to be getting back to this book and it's going to be my main project until chapter four of poppy playtimes releases. And listen I know it's no where near Christmas but here's a christmas-themed chapter. enjoy!!!!

The snow crunched under my thick boots as I kept the Christmas lights in a loose bundle on my shoulder. Even through my wool (though slightly itchy) scarf that poppy had generously made me as an early present when he discovered that I had almost no winter gear, clouds of warm breath still showed in the wintery night.

I assumed almost everyone was at Wally's by now, since I got a late start from scrambling to find my dusty Christmas lights. I hope they weren't worried by my Kate arrival, the snow was quite deep. 

The road was very dimly lit by the overhead lamplights, and I could feel the tips of my eyelashes begin to freeze. I closed my eyes I let the overhead lights guide me, trying to conserve as much heat as I could so I wouldn't be found as I block of ice in the road when the neighbors eventually made their way back to their own houses.

The lamplights began to grow considerably brighter, which I ignored, taking it for just my imagination. But I finally forced my frozen eyes open when I heard a familiar voice call my name...

"Uhhh...y/n?" 

I stuffy looked upwards, my eyes widening as I saw sally, also in her winter clothes, desperately clinging on to the very top of a large pine tree. Her starry head shone brightly, illuminating almost the entire tree and the snow surrounding it. My thoughts darted with confusion as I pulled my scarp down from my nose. "How did you get up there?" I called back, hoping my voice would reach her from such a height.

"Haha! Well...it's a long story!" She stated simply. I didn't push for more answers regarding the topic, seeing as they probably were embarrassing to admit. 

"How long have you been up there?!" I asked again. She tilted her head upward in thought. "About an hour!...or three." She smiled awkwardly and let out an exasperated sigh, my breath clouding around me before dissipating in the cold air.

"Okay, uhhhh...I'll guide you down! Just follow my instructions!" I called, and sally nodded her head. "Okay, the branch right beneath you is too heavy with snow, so it won't support your weight. Carefully move your foot just a little bit to the right and step on the branch below!" 

Sally gripped on to the branch she was holding and very slowly took a careful step towards the instructed branch. Though upon stepping on it, her boot slid off its icy surface like it was nothing. With a startling cry she was sent careening down the tree.

My entire self sparked with panic as I tried to pinpoint where Sally would land. I footstepped through the snow and reached my arms out as she was only yards from the ground. She clumsily fell into my arms, and I stumbled back, slightly slipping on the ice but regaining my balance as Sally stabled her weight in my arms.

I took a deep breath to calm down from the adrenaline rush. My eyes frozen wide and my limbs trembling, but I began to feel myself strangely warm up...

I looked down at Sally's who's light had dimmed, but still shone brightly enough to light the snow around us. We stared at each other for a moment before I spoke up off a whim-

"You're warm." I commented flatly. Sally's eyes widened as she stared at me, her glow shining just a little bit brighter. "Well yeah, stars are kinda just big things of..of fire." Her words faded and I gently set her down, her warmness threatening to burn me, even through my thick parka.

"Care to light our way?" I smiled tiredly, trying to lighten the mood. Sally smiled back and began skipping ahead. "Of course! Thanks a lot for catching me." I followed behind her, securing the lights over my shoulder once again. "I couldn't just let you fall."

And so we stepped and hopped our way through the deep snow, Sally's bright light replacing the flickering lamps as we made our way to Wally's house...
