The Power in Her Hands

Adara opened the lid of the decorated box and saw two broken crystals on separate pendant chains. She said: "Hello there, they told me you are an intelligent entity. If you can understand me, you are now safe from these reptiles. Then seeing them; her mind flashed back to the leader's feast, and she realised that one of the pair was the same pendant she admired when it adorned the Sector Leader's neck.

Adara thought about the crystals and said: "Mr Aide, if these pieces are from the original crystal that is broken, then tell me why a lower ranked, Sector Leader would possess them?"

The Aide said: "The last two people killed were the highest-ranking Family members in the galaxy. They were the Supreme Leader and his deputy. Each held a crystal as a sign of their status. This is the first time they have been in one place in a thousand years. It was the power of the Eternal Ship appearing that bought both leaders and their crystals, together."

Adara thought: "The crystals are the status symbol of the 'Supreme Office.' These two really are the master communication set... The reptiles must have grown a crystal for each ship, from this set" She put the chains containing the crystals in her pocket and sealed them in.

The Aide watched them disappear and asked: "If you could open the box all along, why did you kill him and put me through all that drama?"

Adara closed the lid to the box and reset the lock. Then she sat back on her chair facing the reptile Aide and said: "Okay, I'll tell you before you leave the Eternal ship and this system, forever. Eden, please, raise the volume and put me on the main arena holovid. I want them all to see and hear what happens."

She said: "What you see before you leave the Eternal Ship, will bring you clarity and understanding the power of the species you attacked without provocation. I realise now, that I can never change the way you think. I now agree that for 'you,' this life you lead and the way you function as a space going species, is the way of things."

Unfortunately for you, I believe that every emerging species has the right to evolve and expand before external conflict comes to them. Plundering, torturing, and eating your way through a galaxy of species, is simply wrong and it will stop here, because it was never meant to be that way."

The Aide asked: "Who are you to judge the Family?"

Adara stood and stepped within touching distance of the Aide and said: "I represent the untold trillions of fellow intelligent species you have eaten. The thing about bullies, sadists and religious fanatics that kill for pleasure, is that one day, they meet their match. For the 'Family,' that day has arrived. Mr Aide stand well back please."

The entire arena and Solar System watched Adara stand with her feet apart and spread her arms toward the heavens. Her body began to glow, and an opalescent milky sphere grew outward from her body that looked very similar to an antimatter shield. It paused as if gathering strength, becoming like a solid sphere, then with a deafening bang, it burst outward from her in a rolling wave increasing speed as it moved at the speed of thought. The pressure front of the wave she created grew to encompass the entire Solar System. Through it, Adara became aware of every spatial body, and every being at the molecular level.

Adara concentrated hard and targeted her psycho-electronic influence on those dormant Nanites that had divided and infected every single reptile, throughout the SOL System. Those mega trillions of Nanites acted in unison to manipulate and restructure reptilian genes. The program Adara used now was an adaptation of the same gene manipulation program, used on humans when they came to Earth.

Eden said: "What are you doing, Adara, I've lost control of Nanites throughout all levels occupied by reptiles."

Adara paused and replied: "I'll tell you later, I need to concentrate."
