"You're alive!! I'm so glad!" Bai Wei said in between choked sobs while hugging Jiang Long.

As confused as Jiang Long was, the system was ten times more confused. The system was so scared that it was pulling out its data strings and biting them.

{Host, what are you doing?? You are going to get us kicked out of this world or worse. If the main conscience of the world detects that we aren't of this world it will tear us apart!!}

'Quiet, I need to change this Bai Wei's character to complete the mission.'

The system sniffled and quieted down. It went to write down its last refrain to put on its gravestone when the world conscience kills them.

It read: blame me not for being a young system and choosing the wrong host. Instead, blame the hardware that overestimated this host's IQ.

On the other side, Jiang Long stood frozen as a sobbing Bai Wei hung off him and repeatedly said things to the effect of 'you didn't die' and 'thank god'.

He was about to push Bai Wei off of him ,but when he put his hands on Bai Wei's chest he felt a warm stickiness on his hand. Jiang Long looked down to see that Bai Wei's stitches had come undone and started bleeding again with neither of them realizing.

A little panicked, Jiang Long quickly called for a doctor while persuading Bai Wei to sit back on the bed.

After his first outburst, Bai Wei seemed to calm down significantly, but he still held onto the corner of Jiang Long's shirt as if afraid he would be gone the second he let go. Jiang Long found this amusing as he watched Bai Wei's fingers turn white due to the tightness of his grip on Jiang Long's sleeve.

Jiang Long acquiesced to his silent demand and stayed by Bai Wei's side until doctors arrived and ushered him away. Under the doctor's urging Bai Wei finally let go of his clothes but not without giving him one more glance. Jiang Long found that there was absolute trust in himself in Bai Wei's eyes, leaving Jiang Long with even more mixed emotions as he walked out.

Meanwhile, the system in Bai Wei's mind tried to make a noose out of code and cried more miserably than Bai Wei did a second ago when the data crumbled to the ground.

{W-We're gonna die T^T} the system sobbed pitifully as it watched the ones and zeros scatter to the floor.

'We are not going to die. Just trust me and watch.' Bai Wei couldn't stand the systems premature grieving and tried to calm the system down. The system looked at Bai Wei like a child who had done wrong before nodding his head and sitting down to watch the turn of events.

Indeed, they were not kicked out of the world. Not yet at least.

Jiang Long stood outside of the door for a while before a doctor came to talk to him about Bai Wei's situation.

" He has stabilized. His wounds will take around three months to heal, but his mental state is... a problem." The doctor stated.

Jiang Long nodded thinking back to Bai Wei's strange behavior before. The doctor had more to say ,but was hesitant to speak until Jiang Long persuaded him to continue.

"...We have reason to believe that he may have awakened as a prophet due to the shock" the doctor continued.

"A prophet?" Jiang Long questioned while straightening his back.

"Yes."

"How far is his foresight?"

"About three years, Sir. Additionally, his mind is still burdened by the new ability, so he is in a fragile state. We suggest sending him home to let him recover."

Jiang Long thought for a moment before having a servant contact the Bai family to let them know the situation so that they could come get him and bring him home for recovery. In the meantime, Jiang Long walked back into the room to observe Bai Wei some more.

In this world there were a small group of mages with the ability to see brief glimpses of the future. They were extremely rare and were regarded as god-like beings by the general populace. These people are called prophets.

However, there were a few outstanding points in a prophet's awakening that Bai Wei didn't line up to. For example, most awaken between the ages of five and fifteen. For a prophet to awaken so late in life as Bai Wei, who is nineteen, is practically unheard of. Additionally, a foresight(the length of time the prophet foresaw) of more than a year was extremely uncommon.

Jiang Long was almost sure Bai Wei was faking being a prophet to get Jia Jinxing's attention. After all, prophets had an extremely high status and Bai Wei had proven himself to be the type to do something so crazy in the past.

Jiang Long walked into the hospital room to see Bai Wei, who had his eyes on only himself from the moment he entered. Bai Wei had an adoring gaze that Jiang Long had never seen on Bai Wei before, which caused him to falter. Bai Wei noticed this and quickly darted his eyes to the ground while showing a self-deprecating smile as he seemed to get lost in his own thoughts.

Suddenly, Bai Qing, Bai Wei's mother, burst into the room and made a beeline to her son who looked at her with surprise and delight. Bai Qing looked Bai Wei up and down and when she was certain he was safe she pulled him into a large hug, which Bai Wei returned quickly.

Jiang Long saw this scene and was about to leave quietly until Bai Wei's father and older brother stopped him as they entered the room. Bai Dong, Bai Wei's father, smiled at Bai Wei while Bai Dayi, his brother, stood at the door without even looking at Bai Wei. Instead, he turned his attention to Jiang Long, smirking triumphantly. With Bai Wei's sacrifice, Jiang Long now owed the Bai Family a big favor and Bai Dayi was, no doubt, thinking about what to extort out of himself.

Jiang Long was contemplating over this matter when he once again felt a tug at the hem of his sleeve. Looking down, he saw Bai Wei who started shaking with fear and subconsciously reached out to touch Jiang Long for comfort.

Jiang Long was confused at Bai Wei's actions but made no moves to shake him off. The first forty-eight hours after a prophet wakes up were extremely critical and if not properly cared for it can cause them to suffer a mental collapse. Although Jiang Long was hesitant to believe that Bai Wei had truly awakened, his upstanding character did not allow him to overlook this fact because of his own prejudices. With this in mind, he was about to usher the Bai family outside to talk about Bai Wei's awakening, when he stopped abruptly.

Jiang Long looked down once again to see Bai Wei, who was trembling as he clung onto his arm.

"Please don't leave" Bai Wei said while looking at Jiang Long as if he was his only lifeline.
