Biao Feng awoke in a rage. He felt nothing but anger at the realization that he had fallen into yet another trap. He was angry at Bai Wei for taking advantage of him. Angry at the world that let him be taken advantage of. Mostly, he was angry at himself for being so simple that he could not see through the intentions of others.
Rage enveloped Biao Feng, and he saw red.
Seeing Bai Wei, Biao Feng felt that he had found an object to vent his emotions on. True to his nature as a soldier, Biao Feng's first instinct was to punch Bai Wei first and ask questions later. Biao Feng balled up his fist in righteous fury and shifted his weight onto his back foot before throwing a knockout-worthy punch towards Bai Wei's head.
Biao Feng's fist, however, never made contact. Instead, it went directly through Bai Wei's head. The sudden surprise threw Biao Feng off balance, and he toppled onto the floor. Biao Feng stared down at his hands in disbelief.
He was almost certain that his fist should have made contact with Bai Wei's face just now...
But his hand went through it?????
Biao Feng felt dumbfounded and got up to try again.
This time, with a bit more caution, Biao Feng once again balled up his fist, shifted his weight, and threw another punch at Bai Wei's face. The hand went directly through Bai Wei's head, and it felt like punching air. Unaware of the potential danger, Bai Wei continued to work on his laptop, completely unaffected.
This absolutely baffled Biao Feng. He stopped trying to punch Bai Wei and instead analyzed the room they were in.
They were still in the same office as before. There were two lamps on in the room currently. The first was above Bai Wei at the desk, and the other was beside the couch in the rest area. Biao Feng looked at Bai Wei for a moment before turning his attention to the lounge. The light initially drew his eyes to the lamp before they trailed away. Biao Feng's eyes trailed down to the couch, and he made another shocking discovery.
On the couch sat another Biao Feng! He was conscious and watching the TV!!
"!!!"
Biao Feng felt that the world was spinning. He reached out to hold on to the desk for balance, but his hands went through it, and he grasped at air. With nothing to steady him, Biao Feng fell directly through the desk.
Thud!
On the floor again, Biao Feng was in no rush to get up this time. He instead stared at the ceiling in disbelief.
He was... Just going to stay on the ground for a bit. The floor is good.
Unbeknownst to him, Bai Wei's eyes glanced over towards Biao Feng, who was still lying on the floor. A flash of amusement filled his eyes, but it quickly disappeared.
...
Bai Wei stopped staring at Biao Feng and turned his attention to the report in front of him. It was something he made up on the fly, dictating the usage report of the mind control serum and Biao Feng. This way, he could designate Biao Feng as a research subject and buy them a few more days together.
Bai Wei knew that Biao Feng would ultimately succeed in his goals with or without his interference. However, Bai Wei was also confident that the rebellion would proceed much smoother with his intervention.
Bai Wei planned to use the skills that he learned as a military tactician in his first life and his experiences with political schemes in his third. In this way, he could minimize casualties and ensure wholehearted support for Biao Feng's cause.
