1 : The S Class Esper's Little Scientist

When Bai Wei opened his eyes, he found himself in a room with white walls. In front of him lay precision instruments, such as glass beakers, Bunsen burners, and pipettes. He seemed to be in a laboratory of some kind.

But it was strange.

This entire room was a pristine white color. The floors, walls, countertops—everything was white. It was such a clear white. Something only achievable through extremely frequent and thorough cleaning.

To make matters worse, above him hung a large fluorescent light. Its light reflected on all the white surfaces in the room, shining off of them to create an almost unreal gleam. The glow stung Bai Wei's eyes. He raised his hand to block out the light while he adjusted to his situation.

The room was extremely quiet and had a strong smell of disinfectant. The strong smell, overbearing lighting, apparent lack of colors, and excruciating silence all culminated to create a disturbing feeling.

This room succeeded in somehow being both underwhelming and overwhelming at the same time.

Bai Wei, already dazed from the world transfer, couldn't take it and stared blankly at the floor while he tried to regain his bearings. It took a minute for Bai Wei to return to himself.

Once he was a bit more calm, he realized that this room wasn't technically devoid of color. The only color in the entire room was in his hand. It was a volumetric flask that was filled with a suspicious bright green liquid. It shimmered under the lighting like it had glitter in it. Bai Wei wondered if it was a design choice or an effect born of necessity.

Looking down further, Bai Wei observed his clothes. This body resembled the room, dressed in all white. He seemed to be in a lab coat with a futuristic feel to it. Bai Wei concluded he must be a scientist of some kind in this world.

A strange scientist who hates sound, color, and normal lighting.

Bai Wei looked back at the liquid in the flask, swirling it as he prepared to look at the background for this world when—

Bam!

Before Bai Wei could ask Lu to provide him with the world settings, one door connected to the room opened. A man rushed into the room, slamming the door shut behind him. He then ducked down and began peeking through the small window in the door, observing the situation outside. A few seconds later, a group of people in black combat gear rushed past.

After the group rushed past, the man straightened up but kept his attention on the door. He was tall and muscular, with short black hair. His clothes signaled he must be military personnel, and his aura only further cemented this idea.

Once he was sure the chasers were gone, the man turned his gaze towards Bai Wei. His eyes were bright yellow and seemed to glow. His gaze was so sharp that it felt like it was piercing directly into Bai Wei's soul.

Seeing Bai Wei, the man put on a smile and opened his mouth to speak; however, Bai Wei found he couldn't hear what he was saying. This surprised Bai Wei when Lu chimed in his mind, cutting off his line of thought.

Bai Wei was happy to find his lover so quickly in this world. He took in the information and then looked at his lover in this world with more attention than before. In the meantime, Biao Feng had moved from the door and was now standing in front of him. His mouth was obviously moving, but Bai Wei could hear no sound coming out.
