The servants of the general's manor were quite surprised by the princess's stature. She was completely covered from head to toe in red garments with a veil covering her head, but even that could not hide her large stature and broad shoulders. The servants had their own thoughts, but none were shown on their face. After all, this was the woman the general went out of his way to acquire as a spoil of war.

The wedding proceeded without a hitch. The vows were made towards the heavens and earth and the general's face never stopped smiling the entire ceremony. At times, he would even laugh merrily while looking at his bride in her ceremonial garbs. When the ceremony finished the two marriage partners practically raced to the marital bedroom, failing to even greet their guests. Of course, the guests (which primarily consisted of Bai Wei's family) simply laughed it off. The man they thought would never marry was now head over heels for his bride, what an interesting world they lived in.

Inside the bridal chamber, Bai Wei opened the door to see his blushing bride sitting on a mandarin duck brocaded quilt shaking ever so slightly. Bai Wei smirked and couldn't help but chuckle again before walking over to lift the veil. Underneath was Ding Zihua, blushing from ear to ear and slightly shaking out of embarrassment.

" Let's not do this again please." Ding Zihua opened his mouth and spoke in a gruff, low tone from not being able to speak on the entire way here. For the first time, Ding Zihua's eyes were actually pointed at the ground out of nervousness as he said this.

"Hahahahaha, alright" Bai Wei said with tears in his eyes from laughing too much. He raised his hand again and took off the bride's veil completely from Ding Zihua's head and patted his hair. Bai Wei laughed a few more times as he continued "I guess we're even now, right?"

Ding Zihua let out a sigh of relief at his words. The idea of Ding Zihua dressing as a woman to marry Bai Wei had stemmed from how he felt over betraying Bai Wei so many times. Despite Bai Wei repeatedly consoling him that it was okay and that he was fine now, Ding Zihua still felt that he had greatly slighted his lover and kept asking for proper punishment. After a while, Bai Wei came up with this idea as a method of repayment and it was smoothly worked into their plan.

The two pushed the emperor into a corner with the evidence they had about him trying to assassinate Bai Wei as well as many other war crimes like child soldiers, and human experiments for the development of deadly chemicals. With all of this blackmail in hand, they were able to successfully establish the original main character, Ding Lua, as a legitimate heir under a new title. In this way, Ding Lua had both stability and a clean cut from her family. In this way, she was  able to pursue the throne without risking the wellbeing of her family.

Back to the present, Bai Wei looked at Ding Zihua's face again. Which was covered in a sloppy bridal make-up that presumably Ding Zihua had done himself and couldn't help laughing again. He laughed so hard that his stomach began to hurt slightly and he had to grab Ding Zihua's shoulder for balance. Ding Zihua huffed at him in an exaggerated, playful manner and said, " is it that funny?"

Bai Wei calmed himself slightly and looked back up at Ding Zihua to answer, but seeing his ghostly pale face and bright red cheeks he couldn't help but burst out into laughter again. Instead of answering, Bai Wei simply grabbed a bronze mirror that was laid to the side and handed it to Ding Zihua. Ding Zihua looked at his face for a moment in the mirror and couldn't help laughing himself.

"Hahaha, oh my god. Wait, here's some makeup remover" Bai Wei finally calmed down enough and spoke to Ding Zihua while handing a wet cloth over. Ding Zihua used the mirror and quickly removed the makeup. Pausing slightly, Ding Zihua left the lipstick on his lips and put the mirror down. He then looked up at Bai Wei who was still laughing his head off with his back turned to him now. Working quickly, Ding Zihua grabbed Bai Wei's wrist and pulled him to lay on the bed.

Smiling widely, he grabbed Bai Wei's side and began to tickle the other saying "I'll give you something to laugh about".

Bai Wei struggled to break free and managed to flip the two over with Bai Wei straddling his waist. Smiling merrily, Bai Wei grabbed Ding Zihua's hands and pinned them by his head.

"My wife, you are the most beautiful person I have ever laid eyes on"

Bai Wei giggled for a second and then added "at least when you don't have makeup on that is"

Ding Zihua smiled back at his lover as he easily loosened his hands from the now hunched over and cackling Bai Wei. Moving Bai Wei's head to the side, he said in a sultry tone "Then let this wife please the lord"

From there. Bai Wei's laughs slowly transformed into moans of pleasure.

...

The following years were nothing interesting, Bai Wei officially retired and became a recluse in his mansion after marrying a wife. It was rare for him to even grant an audience to others and because of these circumstances' rumors started surrounding the two. Some said that the general's wife was the most beautiful person to ever live, and General Wei closed his doors in order to hide her away from prying eyes. Others said that she must be a truly hideous person who could not be shown to the public. Only, the servants of the manor knew the truth.

Madam Wei was indeed beautiful, a beautiful man that is.

The two lived out the rest of their days in seclusion from the rest of the world. They would occasionally sneak out and tour the land under disguise. This continued until they finally heard Ding Lua's glorious ascension to the throne. It only took her a mere five years compared to the original ten with Bai Wei's strategic help. After rising to the throne, Ding Lua offered the two a place in Yunnan under official titles and a recognized marriage, but they ultimately declined and instead became wanders. They roamed the lands until the end of their days and were eventually buried in some unknown place.

Their lives never made it into the history books, but they were happy and at the end of the day, that was all that mattered.
