Season 1 Epsiode 8: Once Bitten, Twice Shy

The next day, on the bounty Nya lectures the five Ninja about something as she uncovers a skeleton of a Fangpyre
"Some Villagers unearthed the remains of this Fangpyre a few miles away. It predates the Golden Age, and must be hundred of years old. Although the venom in the fangs of the Fangpyre genetically mutate human cells into reptilian, I've learned there could be a way to stop the effects without having to create an antivenom." Nya explained as Zane takes notes, Kai is bored, Cole draws a picture of himself fight and Jay has a new hairstyle and stares at Nya with an infatuated expression while (Y/N) writes notes down but also looks at a piece of paper
"You can do this, you can do this." (Y/N) mumbled to himself
"If one is able to eiy raise their heart rate, hypothetically it could reverse the venoms effects resulting in... diminished, uh, excuse me. Is someone wearing perfume? I'm severely allergic to perfume." Nya asked as her cheeks turn pink
"Heh." Jay slightly laughs as he whispered to Kai
"You told me it was men cologne." Jay whispered
"Meh, I get them mixed up." Kai said as everyone but, Jay, Nya and (Y/N) laughs, Zane turns off his humour switch
"Ah, looks like class is over. Time to start stomping some Serpentine before they find any Fangblades." Cole said as he began leaving
"Sounds like a plan." Kai agreed as he left
"I'm excited to join." Zane said as the trio left the others, Jay and (Y/N) walk to Nya but bump into each other
"I'm sorry." (Y/N) apologised
"Sorry about that." Jay apologised
"Uh do you wanna?...
"No no, you go first. I can talk later." (Y/N) said leaving
"What was that all about?." Nya asked
"Uh I don't actually know,but uh, Nya, I'm sorry. The reason I was- you know- I went to Kai because- look. What I'm trying to say is-
"I know. It's a cruel joke. I should be fine. Please, go fight snakes, I need to find (Y/N) and talk to him quickly, it's something important." Nya said as she tried to leave but Jay stopped her
"No, no no no. I was trying to impress you. Before Sensei left, he said our heat was the key to unlocking our True potential." Jay said
"Impress me? But I look so....
"Fantastic." Jay said as Nya smiled
"That's really nice Jay but I-
"Look, maybe if you'll let me, I can take you to some big fancy restaurant. You don't have to if you don't want to...
"You mean like a date?." Nya asked
"Um, yeah?." Jay smiled as Nya thought about it
"Uh sure. I'd love to, but I have to go now before the perfume toxins enter my bloodstream and I go into shock, see you tonight." Nya said walking away before sadly sighing
"Yes!." Jay celebrated but accidentally pricks himself in the skeleton
"Ow! Ah! Man." Jay hissed he he leaves, unaware a trickle of venom comes out the fang

Nya walks along the halls of the Bounty and sees (Y/N) mumbling to himself
"Okay, okay big deal, you've been planing this for awhile now, can't be this hard, can it? Ugh, I don't know, why can't things be easy?!." (Y/N) yelled in anger
"You okay?." Nya asked scarring (Y/N)
"Oh hey Nya." (Y/N) blushed in embarrassment
"What are you doing?." Nya asked
"Tell her." (Y/N) mentally thought
"Uhhhhh, nothing.....
(Y/N) mentally slapped himself
"Oh, okay." Nya looked slightly upset before walking away
"Ugh what is wrong with me? It's not that hard, just go up to her and ask her out on a date, not so hard is it?." (Y/N) said to himself as he banged his head onto the wall of the bounty

On the mountain of madness, Garmadon and Wu confront each other
"Hello brother. What took you so long? You brought the Katana from our youth. Funny, you never had the courage to cross the temple wall, yet now you have the courage to come here." Garmadon said as he gestured the area
"Why have you come to this place of Darkness?." Wu asked
"A place as wicked as me? Don't you see? Here I feel at home, in Ninjago. I was physically unable to hold all four Spinjtizu weapons. But here, dark magic has made me stronger and what was once impossible is possible." Garmadon said as he revealed his four arms
"You came here only to process the Weapons of Spinjtizu?." Wu asked
"Yes, brother. And I refuse to allow you or your petty ninja to stop me!." Garmadon yelled as he summoned four weapons and attacks Wu
"Once you fall, the purple ninja will join me in my conquest of darkness, as we both know that im the only one who can teach him how to use his powers." Garmadon said as he knocks Wu down into a pit of mud where Mud monsters come out to attack him, Wu attacks them
"Brother, I've not come here to-
"You will pay for your visit. Mud monsters, converge! You don't belong here old fool. You should've known better than to try to stop me." Garmadon said as Wu slowly got covered by the mud monsters
"I didn't come to stop you. I came to warn you. To tell you- your sons in danger! Ahh!." Wu struggled to say as he was fully covered in mud
"Lloyd?." Garmadon spoke surprised as he grabbed Wu out of the mud monsters
"What has Lloyd gotten himself into?." Garmadon asked Wu
"He has opened a can of worms I fear I will never be able to close." Wu said
"You mean we will never be able to close. Get up. You can tell me more later. First, we need to return home. How did you find me?." Garmadon asked
"Travellers Tea. But I used it all and now have no way back." Wu said
"There is only one way to return to Ninjago. But to get there, we must pass through the Mountain of Madness and it is a long and dangerous road ahead." Garmadon explained
"I wouldn't have it any other way." Wu said
"We should leave. Before it really gets dark." Garmadon said as they walked away

The serpentine dig their way above ground outside of Mega Monster Amusement Park
"This is it, Pythor. The map leads us here. The first Fangblade." Skales said as he points to the park
"Maybe it's better to wait until it's dark, so we don't attract any unwanted attention from the ninja or Samurai." Skales suggested
"Oh, I have a feeling we'll fit right in." Pythor smiled evilly
A kid screams and runs away as he sees a mascot
"Hey don't go." The employee said as the snakes pass by
"Excuse me. Would you mind if my family takes a picture with you?." A man asked Pythor
"Your costume is so authentic." The women praised
"Of course. Welcome to- to uh." Pythor looks at the sign
"Mega Monster Amusement Park!." Pythor greeted
"Say cheese." Skales said holding a camera
"Cheese." They all said as he takes the photo blinding Pythor for a second

Back on the bounty (Y/N) looked at a mirror and took deep breaths
"Okay, okay, you got this, just go up to her, and ask her out, you got this." (Y/N) said as he left the bathroom where Jay walked in smiling happily
(Y/N) saw Nyas room up ahead and was going to knock but Kai saw him
"Hey (Y/N) there you are, we need you in the bridge." Kai said as (Y/N) looked down before following Kai
"You okay?." Kai asked
"Peachy, what's up?." (Y/N) asked
"We're looking for the Four Fangblades, and we could use an extra pair of eyes." Kai said as they walked into the bridge
The four were on the bridge where Jay appeared wearing a nice suit wearing gloves
"Woah, where are you going Mr. Fancy?." Cole asked
"Didn't you hear? I'm taking Nya to a nice restaurant. A really nice restaurant." Jay smiled confidently as (Y/N) looked sad
"I guess she likes Jay more, I should've asked sooner." (Y/N) said mentally as he turned back to the monitor before he noticed Pythor and Skales at Mega Monster Amusement Park
"Uh Jay sorry to burst your plans but you may have to cancel your plans." (Y/N) said as he pointed at the monitor
"Hey that's Pythor." Jay said
"Pythor would not be there for fun. We believe a Fangblade may be buried underneath the park." Zane said
"We can't let them get it! Oh, but my date...
"Jay, if they get all four of them. Pythor can unleash the Great Devourer. Get your priorities straight man." Kai said as Jay gets an idea and smiles, he walked over to Nyas door as she just comes back as Samurai X, Jay knocks on through door
"Huh?." Nya asked confused as Jay opened the door
"Uh, Nya, you there?." Jay asked as Nya slams the door
"Don't come in! I'm getting ready!." Nya lied before changing into a new dress
"Well, I'm- I just wanna talk to you about our date. You know. I'm hearing really bad reviews for the restaurant and I just...
Nyas bracelet projects a map
"Serpentine spouted at Mega Monster Amusement Park?." Nya whispered
"You know, I think we should cancel." Jay said as Nya opened the door
"Oh, your cancelling?." Nya asked
"No, no. I just wanted to know if you would rather go to Mega Monster Amusement Park instead." Jay asked
"Really? The would be perfect! But arent you overdressed?." Nya asked before gasping as she sees her helmet in view
"Well, yah. Of course, I need to change-
Nya kicks the helmet
"What was that?." Jay asked
"Nothing! You know what? I'll dress up too. Looks fun." Nya said as she goes to a changing screen
"Hey I was thinking you know, we'd take my Storm Glider there." Jay said
"Sounds like fun... would you give me a minute?." Nya asked as Jay left, as she heard the door close she sighs
"I was saving this for our first date (Y/N), sorry." Nya sighed sadly as she got changed and walked out to see Jay who looks stunned
"I'm in your hands." Nya smiled mentally sighing

(Y/N) reads the note he wrote for Nya and sadly sighs
"Hey you good (Y/N)?." Cole asked as they approached him
"Yeah you haven't been... yourself recently." Kai said
"It's- it's nothing." (Y/N) lied
"My sensors say you are lying." Zane said
"Okay dude, what's up?." Kai asked as he sat next to (Y/N)
"Promise me you won't get mad?." (Y/N) asked Kai who looked confused
"Uh, sure... why?." Kai asked as (Y/N) sighed
"I was.... Planning on.... Asking... Nya out..." (Y/N) said flinching at Kai who only looked at (Y/N) Cole and Zane looked at (Y/N) shocked
"You want to do what?." Cole asked
"He said he wanted to ask Nya out." Zane said as Cole sighed in annoyance
"Do you hate me?." (Y/N) asked Kai who only smiled
"Why would I? Bro my sister always talks about you, you've shown her so much kindness and you remind me about how I should be nice to my sister too, honestly, I trust Nya with you then anyone in this world, so I'm not mad, in fact I support it." Kai smiled much to (Y/N)'s surprise
"Really?." (Y/N) asked confused as Kai nodded as the duo hugged
"Thank you." (Y/N) said
"Hey sorry to break the moment, but we have a snake problem to deal with." Cole said as the duo got up
"Let's go kick some reptilian butt!." (Y/N) smiled as they ran out of the bounty

At Mega Monster Amusement Park Jay and Nya arrive at a restaurant
"Yeah, even when I was young, it was clear I was born and bred for adventure. I was the first one to get my knot badge in little scouts. I was always trying daring foods. I once built these wings from scrap metal and other- uh you okay? You seem kind of distant." Jay asked as Nya looked at her bracelet
"Uh, yeah. It's just the portions are so big. And to think we split our dish." Nya said
"Heh, so that Samurai, oh man, I hate him, don't you? He's such a showboat, you know? If you ask me, he's nothing without his big, clunky exo-suit." Jay said as Nya glared
"(Y/N) would never of said that, even if he didn't know it was me, maybe this was a mistake... maybe I should have asked (Y/N) out...
"Yeah. Nothing can compare to two good old fashioned feet and fists, don't you think?." Jay asked
"Yeah, sure." Nya said uninterested
"You know, ssssomebody once told me....
Jay gasps as he sees he's reflection in a spoon and realises he has fangs
"You okay?." Nya asked concerned
"Excusse me. I have to use the resstroom." Jay said as he left and ran into the restroom and looks in a mirror and discovers he is turning green, he takes his gloves off and sees the same thing
"Oh gosh. I'm turning into a snake!." Jay yelled as a man tried to enter the restroom
"I'm busy dude! Can't you seen it's taken?." Jay yelled as the man left
"I can't got out there looking like this. This is the worst date ever." Jay said sadly

In a attention nearby a group of visitors ride the cart as it tries to be scary
"Ha! Lame! This ride is stupid." The man said slightly chuckling as he sees the Serpentine digging nearby
"Heh, look how stupid this guy looks." The man said as the Venomari walked up to them and spat in their eyes making them hallucinate and scream in fear
"Get me off this thing! Mommy!." The man yelled
The ninja walk around the park
"Where is everybody?." Kai asked as they looked around only to see the riders scream and run out of the attraction
"Wait a minute, that ride was never scary." Cole said
"Yeah it failed to scare Lloyd, and you know it isn't scary if he isn't scared." (Y/N) said
"Venomari." Zane came to the conclusion
"Should we get Jay?." Kai asked
"Let's not bother the two lovebirds. I think we can handle this." Cole said as (Y/N) sighed sadly
They walked through the crowd
"Excuse us, coming through." Kai said as they pushed through the crowd
"Nothing to look at folks." Cole said
"This is official ninja business." Zane said
"Don't mind us, we're just gonna save the day once more." (Y/N) said as they pushed through

Back at the restaurant Nya looks around as Jay doesn't come back
"Sorry Jay. But duty calls." Nya said as she leaves as Jay looks at himself
"Huh, you don't look so bad. Just go out there and tell her the truth." Jay said as he felt something on his back, he looks and screams
"Ah! I have a tail! No, no, it's okay Jay. Lots of girls like tails." Jay said trying to be confident as he left only to notice Nya later
"She left? Nya?." Jay called out as a man notices Jay
"Snake!." The man yelled as everyone looks at him and gets angry as they approach him with food for weapons
"No! Stop! You don't understand!." Jay yelled as they began attacking him

Nya gets inside her mech as the Serpentine uncovered the first Fangblade
"Ah, the first Fangblade is ours!." Pythor laughed as they saw the ninja as the Sword of fire was ignited
"Not so fast." Kai said as the three looked at him
"Really? That's the best you got?." Cole asked
"I couldn't think of anything on the fly." Kai admitted
"How about. Time to burn. Or. Jump on this fire ride?." Cole suggested
"Or, how about. It's time to fry and cry!." (Y/N) suggested as Cole nodded
"Even that was better." Cole said
"Well, next time you both lead." Kai said annoyed
"Next time we will." Cole said as (Y/N) nodded
"Oh yeah? If you guys can catch up." Kai said
"Oh, come on. You gotta follow my lead." Cole said as they attacked the serpentine while a cart passed by
"Ninjas? Ninjas aren't scary." A man said looking confused as the fight happens
"Watch and learn brothers." Zane tries to use his True potential but accidentally freezes his teammates
"Oops." Zane said as they froze as everyone laughs and they run away, as the snakes leave Nya appears and grabs the Fangblade
"Stop him!." Pythor yelled as Nya tries to fly away only for no success
"Thruster malfunction." Nya said as she leaves but gets tackled
"Finally, the mystery man is revealed." Pythor said as everyone gasps as they took the helmet off
"Or should I have said mystery girl? Who's gonna save you now? Hmm?." Pythor asked as Nya glared

Back in the diner the crowd keeps hitting Jay
"Ow!." Jay yelled as he manages to crawl through the crowd and heads into the rest room where he conceals himself by using a scarf
"Do not go in there. He bites. This is not dinner theatre people. It's real! Arm yourselves." Jay said as they crowd only looked at him as Jay ran out
"Nya! Where is she?." Jay asked as he sees a group of snakes
"Hey!." Jay yelled as he spins his nunchucks, they see his tail and laugh at him
"Oh what happened? S and bite your tongue?." Pythor mocked Jay as he sees Nya on a roller coaster train
"Jay! Help!." Nya yelled as Pythor signals Bytar to turn it on
"Later, alligator. Let's go boys." Pythor said as they left as Jay quickly got on the ride
"What happened to you?." Nya asked
"What happened to you?." Jay asked as he spots a ring of fire and broken tracks ahead
"Uh. We have to get you out of here." Jay said as Nya sees his tail
"Were you bit? Take off your head scarf." Nya said
"I prefer not. I was meaning to tell you, but I didn't want it to ruin the date." Jay said
"Oh, that's so sweet. Hey, you were the first in your 'lil scouts group to get your knit badge right?." Nya asked
"Yeah, about that. I made that up just so I could impress you. I was never in little scouts." Jay said
"You weren't? Hold on." Nya said as Jay looked at her
"What? You have an idea?." Jay asked as Nya shook her head
"No, hold on!." Nya yelled as they ride down a slope where Jays scarf flew off his face
"Ah! Don't look at me! I'm a monster. Though I hate the Samurai, where is he when you actually need him? Samurai! Help! Help! Samurai!." Jay yelled
"Jay, I don't think the Samurai is coming." Nya spoke worriedly
"Why?." Jay asked confused
"I know this might not be the best time, but I haven't been totally honest either." Nya said looking worried
"What is it?." Jay asked
"I...I'm the Samurai!." Nya yelled as Jay looked shocked and confused
"You're the Samurai? Ah! We're running out of track." Jay said as the end neared closer
"Jay. If anything horrible were to happen, I want you to know that you don't have to wear cologne or pretend to be anything that you're not. Because I like you best when you're you." Nya said as she kissed jays cheek which lets him glow before turning human again
"Your face. You're back to normal." Nya smiled
"It's like you just said. You must have raised my heart rate." Jay said
"Whatever happens next, just remember, you are the best you." Nya said as Jay stands up and grabs his nunchucks before surging with more power than before
"What's happening?." Nya asked
"My True Potential." Jay said as he teleported in front of the roller coaster and stopped it before it could go off the tracks, as it stops Jay returns to normal and puffs

The ninja meet up with each other, expect for (Y/N) who sits far away
"You really had me fooled. I never guessed you were the Samurai." Zane smiled
"I wish I had a sister like you." Cole said smiling
Technically I was the first to discover her secret-
"Uh actually it was (Y/N) he helped me with this." Nya smiled as they had their jaws drop
"He knew this entire time?!." They yelled surprised
"Hey speaking of (Y/N), where is he anyways?."Nya asked looking around
"Uh, he said he wanted so alone time." Cole said air quoting as Nya looked sad
"Well, you know what I learned today?." Jay asked
"What's that?." Nya asked trying to cover up her sadness
"No matter what kind of secret you have, whether you're a snake or a Samurai, it is important to be yourself." Jay said
"Yeah that's cute, but you wanna know what I learned? The Serpentine now have the first Fangblade." Cole said
"But we are getting stronger. One day. We will all reach our True Potential and Pythor will be stopped." Zane said as they smiled
"And we figured out all this without Sensei. Pretty good for five ninja." Jay said as Nya punches his arm
"And a Samurai." Jay smiled
"I wonder what Sensei is doing now." Kai wondered

Back in the Realm of Madness, Wu and Garmadon reach the base of the Mountain
"We're here. The mountain of Madness." Garmadon said
"The only way back to Ninjago is up there?." Wu asked
"The worst is yet to come." Garmadon said as they start to ascend the mountain
As they climb Wu looks at Garmadon
"Why do you seek out the Purple Ninja?." Wu asked as Garmadon sighed
"I don't want to, but the darkness that flows through my veins connects me to his power of Destruction, I can feel when he gets stronger, it is like we are connected in a way. Why do you ask?." Garmadon asked as Wu looked up ahead
"Curious is all." Wu said as they kept climbing

Later that day on the bounty (Y/N) stands on the bridge and holds the note he was practicing for Nya, he rips it in half and lets go of it allowing the wind to blow them away, he sighs as he feels the world crumble around him
"(Y/N) is that you?." Nya asked seeing the Purple Ninja standing on the deck
"Hey Nya." (Y/N) said not making eye contact with her, Nya looked worried and approached him
"Are you alright? You can tell me if you aren't." Nya said as (Y/N) sighed
"It's nothing, I just.... I don't know." (Y/N) sighed as he looked at the view, he felt something rest on his hand, he looked and saw it was Nya, who only smiled
"It's nice, just us bring here." Nya smiled as (Y/N) lightly blushed
"Uh, yeah." (Y/N) smiled weirdly
Nya rested her head on (Y/N) shoulder as they looked out the view, behind them Kai smiles before walking away
