Christmas

You'd think Christmas in a satanic church wouldn't be as extravagant as they made it out to be but it was. Someone had even sprinkled fake snow in the corridors that glittered brightly under the boots of the ghouls; Dew went on a rant about hating it. Bellamira was absolutely positive he actually liked it but wanted to be Mr. Tough Guy.

Cardi had stuck to his demands about having the biggest tree around perched up right in the middle of the corridor. Which like Bellamira has stated many times that it wouldn't be smart with his late night tricycle trips. Said tree was also extremely difficult to decorate when you're not exactly the tallest and your ghoul mate was worried about you using a step ladder. According to him just the possible risk of falling was enough to not allow it.

"Don't you think there's too many ornaments on this side?" Rain pointed out, mostly to irritate Bellamira into rearranging them all. She stepped back scrunching her nose in thought, there was an awful lot of goofy little ornaments that she could've sworn she hadn't placed. Rain was pretty good at sneaking them on when she wasn't looking. All of the ornaments were a wide range of random objects that the ghouls thought were funny. There was even an Uno one snuck in there somewhere that Cirrus was proud to present this year.

There had been a sort of tradition about the clergy members supplying an ornament of their choosing. However that definitely threw the idea of tradition out of the window and now there was just some real odd ball ones that Bellamira chose to forget about. Totally accidental if Sister Imperator asked, there was definitely no way Mira was picking favorites when it came to the tree.

"I don't think this side is the problem Rainy, I mean have you seen the top of the tree? It's bare." Mira gestured upwards where only the abandoned pine needles stuck out.  He wasn't completely surprised that Swiss was against the step ladder. The thing was as old as Papa Nihil and the risk of Mira possibly breaking something didn't sit well with either of the ghouls. However now the tree was only half decorated which wasn't very festive at all.

"You think anyone will notice?" Rain shrugged, attaching another hook to the next ornament and reaching further up than Mira could. The woman chuckled in response while trying to unravel the yards of tacky tinsel garland that Cardi requested. Both of them were attempting to get the decorating as soon as possible for their usual tradition for Christmas.

Ever since becoming friends, Mira and Rain had always exchanged gifts and drank hot chocolate while watching a Christmas movie. Sometimes they chose to buy each other something silly or other times meaningful. It was something special to the both of them to have someone that close with in the abbey. However this year, things would be a little different with Mira being mated Swiss. They had decided to celebrate with all the ghouls this year which came as a huge excitement to Cirrus and Cumulus; they loved buying gifts for people.
