After somehow figuring out where the councilman stayed, who you now knew as Jayce Talis, both you and Vi navigated through the unknown streets of Piltover.
The rain had stopped after a while, and the feeling of wet clothes clinging onto your back felt quite uncomfortable.
You only followed along after her, an uneasy feeling brewing in the pit of your stomach as you made your way to the tall building."Vi, what if the guy doesn't want to talk to us? Hell, he'll send us both into prison if we say something wrong."
You murmured, subconsciously running your fingers over your sleeved arm.
"We have to do something. We can't just stand by and watch those suckers intervene, Y/n."
"I know, I know. I just- I dunno. Maybe there's a better way out of this?"
The words that left your mouth were timid, unsure.
You weren't confident of what was going to happen, but you'd blindly follow Vi anywhere.
That was one of the few things that somehow managed to stay the same, even despite all these years.
It was like your heart subconsciously got tugged along with hers, making you follow her head-first into any and all rash decisions she made."This is our only chance, probably the only one we'll get. Won't hurt to try it out."
She breathed out, frustration etched into her voice.
Vi was obviously fed up by your nagging, so you decided to drop the interrogation.
You just didn't want her to get hurt, is all.
But you knew very well that she'd definitely been fed up by that council meeting, so maybe your series of stupid questions was unnecessary.
The two of you turned a street, finally witnessing the ornate building with intricate details come into your line of sight.
Your gaze immediately landed on the only entrance to the building, two Enforcers posted right at front."Crap. How're we gonna get past those chums?"
The mutter that left your lips was more of a question for yourself, but Vi couldn't help the small chuckle.
"Oh, come on. We used to sneak past all sorts of store owners and scammers back in our glory days. What, did you become a wuss over these past 7 years?"
She breathed out with a slight snicker, shaking her head at your question.
"That's different and you know it! Besides, I haven't gone on a heist in years, let alone a break-in. I've lost my charm."
You huffed, shrugging slightly as you peered over the area.Vi could only roll her eyes at your claim, a huff leaving her lips; she found your sentence amusing.
"You kidding me? You're a damn Firelight, for Janna's sake. Isn't your whole thing all about being sneaky and quick?"
Your face burned in embarrassment.
"Yeah, but, that's-it's different!"
"Psh. Just say you're scared. Didn't know adulthood turned you into a coward, sweetheart."
You felt slightly challenged by her comments, and you looked at her with a raised brow. She had a deadpan expression, her eyes looking straight into yours."Fine!"
You whisper-shouted, exhaling out of frustration.
You dug into your pockets, thankful that you carried around small trinkets for the sake of boredom. Though, in this case, you'd hope they'd be useful for this very hectic scenario.
As you pulled your hand out, you looked down to see a few cogs and screws in your palm.
Turning to your left, you smiled at the sight of a trash can.
You quietly jogged towards the large bin before doing your best to inspect the contents inside.
The lampposts were dim, so they did little to help you see. But, you managed to catch the familiar glimmer of a bottle, and you quickly snatched it out of the can.
You headed back towards Vi, who had a smug look on her face as she watched you devise a plan out of scratch.
Oh, she loved to see your brain work.
You wrapped the bottom of your shirt around the bottle, muting the small 'clink' sounds as you poured in the tiny items.
Then, when the tiny tools were settled inside the bottle, you looked back up at Vi.
She adored that determined expression you gave her, your pretty e/c narrowed in thought. The two of you were hiding behind the wall of a large building. The brick structure stood right before the Council's large establishment, branching off into a U-like shape. Both you and Vi were on the right side of the strangely shaped building, away from the Enforcers. You looked around, smirking when you saw a tree. Immediately, your genius mind had devised a plan.
"Go down the street and wait on the other side of this place. I'm gonna try and distract the buffoons, and then when their attention is averted, you break into the place. Got it?"
Vi's lips upturned, and the sight of her grin made your heart flutter.
