"I can't believe she caught us there."I say in a whisper as Elijah takes me to my bed,he's also laughing as the shock wears off. I turn my to look at him,his dimples on full display when he smiles like that.
I switch the light on and keep walking,"Is she spying on us?"he shrugs when I ask him this. I do my own shirking into my pile of blankets,curling my legs into myself,resting my head onto the head board,
I can feel Elijah's eyes trace over me even with my eyes closed. I didn't imagine the way he looked over my collar bone. I saw it. With my own eyes.
The same way I can hear him coming closer,his steps slow and heavy. He sits just beside me,setting his cup on top of my bed side stool. It makes a small sound against the wood,"Aren't you tired?"I ask,and he turns to me. His eyes look incredibly... dreamy.
Like he's half here,half not. "All that running around must make you exhausted,right?"the closer he gets the more nervous I feel. He can probably tell too,he places his finger on my lips,silencing me. "What are you-"
"Hush now."his eyes flicker over my figure,as he closes the space between us with a careful lean inwards. Time slows down when the tip of his nose bumps into my own,when his knee grazes my inner thigh,when his other hand caresses my cheek.
I want to scream. I might need to if he comes I step closer.
I should push him,I don't. I'm shamelessly curious to see what he's going do.
I gasp when I feel the gentle brush of his lips against mine,he disregards patience and furthers what can only be known as a kiss.
My eyes spring open and I gasp for air like a fish out of its waters. I face the open window where he sun has started to rise,clutch the covers that surround me.
Just a wall away is a man who had me spend the night here. The man who appeared in my dream like reaper of humiliation.

"Remember to record anything important he says during this meeting."Elijah tells me,pulling his tie up and fussing about with his cuff links. He's wearing one of the many black suits he probably stuff into his closet,
"Okay,sir."he immediately turns to me and squints,his hands placed upon the neck of his tie,
"Sir?"he asks with a raised brow and his gaze makes me squeeze my clip board up tight onto,I avoid looking at his face because ever since I walked into the office today. I'm afraid that if I look into his eyes he might know everything.
That I had a dream that he put his hand on my thigh and kissed me-
Don't think about it. Who knows if he can hear my thoughts or something. "You don't usually address me that way,"he seems so more stressed with his own matters to give it much thought,"Anyway,tell me who were meeting up with today?"
"Mr Lucian Relish,a man from a non avatar noble family,that deals in busines,they own the biggest bank in Ferrez if not the whole country. He wants to invest in our project."I explain exactly like he told me this morning,
"We've already been planning this for months,so there's nothing to stress about."he keeps walking,leaving me to keep up,his side profile is all I see. A sharp jaw,a tall nose and... smooth skin.
My head pounds out of nowhere,I wince and step back. He stops as well,"Kristian? Are you okay?"he asks,urgency in his tone,"If you're not okay,I'll call David and you'll go back home with-"
"No,I can do this."I feel all the pain go away,my vision comes back to me and I no longer feel as muddle headed as before,
"If anything happens to you here,figure out a way to stop me from saying I told you so."he says to me,with a teasing glint in his voice,I bet his eyes shimmer with that same mocking sparkle,I don't dare to face him though. He puts his arm behind me and pushes me forward and walks slow so I can remain in front.
"Mr Lewis,you made it!"a man in an equally fitted suit to Elijah says as soon as we walk in. His smile is wide,from ear to ear and sincere. His hair is dark and curly,over plain white skin,like he doesn't spend a lot of time outside.
Like he spends days behind doors,reading novels and nonfiction about being a better man. His blue eyes aren't cold but warm and genuine.
"And why would I miss it?"Elijah asks in return,as they both pull each other in for a brief embrace,they remain holding hands. They seem close,I think to myself.
He notices me after a moment. And his smile falls for a moment,his eyes dazed about as he stares at me. Without looking at Elijah he asks,"And whose this?"
"Ah,this is my assistant,Kristian White."
"Kristian,"he repeats as if he's testing it out,"How lovely to meet you,Kristian."I smile the same way he does amd shake his hand,he holds mine with both of his,
"Can we start now?"Lewis asks in his usual fast going fashion,
"Of course,take a seat,both of you."he says,ushering us to our seats before taking his own,"Been a while?"he engages Elijah and he nods in agreement stretching his hand out to me to give him the documents they're supposed to sign,
"I've been working over time trying to make sure our contract is beneficial for the both of us."he explains pulling out a pen from his breast pocket,"Take a look."
Relish takes a brief look at the file,flipping left and right before shutting it. "You can have your lawyer to take a look-"
"That won't be necessary,Lewis,I trust you."he answers,placing a casual hand on his leg,leaning back into his chair,
"Are you sure?"Elijah asks,suspicious,
"We've been friends since we were kids,Lewis,I trust you completely."he laughs like he's reservations are ridiculous,"We've been planning this for months,and you? You've had this dream for years,if I were to help you realise it,it would make me happy."
"I just wanted to confirm,this is your trust fund you're handing me."
"It doesn't mean much anyway because after your done,you get paid so do I,also fifteen percent of the shares of a project like that,that's several fortunes."I agree with Relish,sooner or later the fight to be involved in this process with turn to a full on frenzy.
The number of meetings and offers Elijah has gotten already is insane. He turns them all down because apparently he has all his investors sorted out. Or whatever he's thinking,you can never tell what he's thinking.
He always has that same stoic expression on his face.
"If you've made up your mind,then we get on with signing this thing?"Relish nods at this request. And I watch as my boss signs some big document with the most elegantly smooth signature,
He closes the file once he's done and hands it back to me,"Looks like we're done here?"He gets up and buttons up his blazer,
"I thought we might get some coffee,but looks like you never change."
"Maybe next time,Relish."they share an embrace once more before the man walks towards me and shakes my hand with both of his. I smile because he's so friendly,he grins,
"It was a pleasure to meet you,Kristian. If get time tell your boss to come for coffee and to bring you along-"he says handing me his business card,he pulls me in gently before adding,"If you're feeling happy,come alone."
His admission makes my cheeks warm,when he pulls back I notice that he's quite cute. His curly hair in his face just slightly,
"Thanks,Mr Relish-"
"Please,call me Lucian."he says with a wink,and my heart skips a beat,
"Kristian let's go,we have errands to run."Elijah says walking out and I follow him,not before sparing him another glance.
"What errands do we have to run?"I say straight up having to chase him out of the building,
"Two weeks,Kristian. That's all you have until the competition,do you even have what you'll present?"I slow down to get inside the car as he puts the keys into the ignition,
"I do! It's just you never ask and-"
"Is it me whose going to go up on stage or you? I never ask? Give me a break."he says pushing the limits of the speed cap on the area,
"Oh,you want a break? What about me? I can't do everything while being YOUR assistant."I whine and he barks out a laugh,
"My assistant,what? Having a hard time."he smiles through my pain,and I smack his shoulder. Reaching into the back seat I grab some of my plans to show them to him.
