An: I'm back

The day started like almost any other. My father was worse than usual for a Monday. Usually he's passed out drunk for most of the day on Mondays, but not today. He woke me up when he got back from the bar at 3 am. He spent the next two hours beating me where no one would see. He finally passed out around the time I have to get ready for school. Luckily for me, I'm used to the beatings so it wasn't too hard to fix myself up. I walked to school hyping myself up. As long as I keep it together, no one will find out that I am useless.

When I finally arrived to school, I had pulled myself together. On the way to class, I saw a cute girl who reminded me of Y/n a little. I decided to practice my lines on her before I try them out on Y/n. She didn't seem to be very receptive, but I refused to give up. One of these lines will work out. I hope. The girl walked away after a few more attempts so I decided to just go to class. I must have took a wrong turn because I ended up in a dead end.

I turned around and immediately stopped. I heard a very nervous high pitched voice talking to a cocky sounding lower pitched voice. I looked around the corner to see a scared looking bunny girl being held against the wall by a tall, buff boy. I froze and listened in to their conversation trying to decide what to do.

"Come on sweet cheeks," The buff boy said grabbing her wrist. "Lets ditch this joint and go have some fun."

"N-no t-thank you," The bunny girl stuttered trying to break free.

"Don't play hard to get. I saw the way you looked at me yesterday at lunch." He smirked running his free hand through his hair.

"I-I wasn't looking at you." She whimpered.

"Don't lie to me," He growled, turning his grin into a scowl.

I wondered what I should do before coming to the conclusion I should help her. I mean I am trying to become a hero afterall.

"Hey, leave her alone," I said coming out of my hiding spot.

"And who might you be, pipsqueak?" The bull laughed turning away from the terrified girl.

"A future hero." I confidentally replied putting my hands on my hips.

"You?" He laughed even harder letting go of the girl in the process. "You look like you're supposed to be still in diapers. What are you going to do?"

I took a ball off my head and threw it before saying, "This."

The ball hit him square in the middle of his chest. He looked at it for a second before glaring at me.

"You're dead, freak." He lunged toward me, but tripped over nothing and fell on his face.

He tried to get up, but my sticky ball prevented that. Not willing to risk him getting out and attacking me again, I put a ball on his hand. I turned my attention to the poor bunny girl who had slid to the ground. She was obviously in shock so I gently took one of her hands to help her up. While she was getting up, I noticed an ugly bruise on her wrist in the shape of a hand. I led her towards Recovery Girl's office. We didn't make it too far before she started bawling.

"Are you ok?" I asked her stopping to look at her.

She wasn't able to say anything I could understand so I decided to keep going. The hallways were thankfully empty. I did not want to explain this to any passerbys. They might not believe me with my reputation. We made it to Recovery Girl's office, but unfortunately she was not there. I led the sobbing girl to one of the beds. I tried my best to calm her down. Me being a boy probably didn't do any favors so I wrote a note for Recovery Girl to read when she got back.

Once I was finished, I left the bunny girl whose name I never learned and went to class. Mr. Aizawa was not happy with me for being more than 30 minutes late. He gave me detention, but Niko tried to convince him to let me off this one time for some reason. He was not amused and gave her detention too. She gave me an apologetic glance before Mr. Aizawa resumed his nap- I mean class. The rest of the day passed without any more problems.

After class, I walked to the park near my house to pass the time. I did not want to potentially run into my drunk father. He has gotten worse now that he got fired from his job. Niko was already at the park when I got there which is weird because I know she does not live anywhere near me. She looked up at me when I got close.

"What are you doing here?" I asked terrified for my well being which didn't make sense. Niko is really nice.

"Waiting for you," she replied standing up from her spot on the swing.

"Why?" I questioned confused. No one waits for me.

"To help you." She said not elaborating. "Come on. Let's go."

"Where?"

"To your house."

"We can't go there!" I yelled terrified again. I don't want Niko getting hurt.

"Yes we can and we will," She said calmly opening a portal.

"But-" I tried to protest, but was pushed through the portal to my living room.

My father was sitting in his chair drinking out of the whiskey bottle. He staggered up at the sight of a pretty young girl in his house. I tried to distract him so she could get away, but I was not succesful. It turns out I didn't need to try because as soon as my father got close she slapped him hard across the face. She then, for the next 10 minutes, beat the absolute crap out of my father. My father, who just this morning seemed like the scariest person I've ever met, was now laying on the ground crying like a little baby. Niko was yelling a bunch of curses at him. None of which I heard because I was too busy staring at my now unconscious father.

"Don't worry, Minoru. He won't touch you anymore." She told me wiping off her bloody hands with a rag.

"Why did you do that? You hate me." I said knowing that while she was nice to me on the surface, her eyes revealed what she really thought.

"Because I realized that you do not deserve to be treated like that." She said dropping the now bloody rag on my father. "And I despise child abusers. I meant to do this earlier anyways. I just forgot. I'm sorry I made you go through all that."

I opened my mouth to say something, but only sobs escaped my lips. Niko seemed uncomfortable with my crying. The look on her face kind of looked like regret although I could not see through my tears very well so I'm not sure if she actually was. Niko then once again surprised me by giving me a hug and rubbing soothing circles on my back.

"Everything will be ok now," she told me before picking me up and taking me to my bed tucking me in.

"Sweet dreams," Niko whispered leaving through a portal.

I fell asleep happy knowing that I was finally free from all the abuse.

Niko POV

I get emotionally attached easily.
