- Forgetful
(Poem by me)
Just a usual day
He was driving down
Memory lane
(Oh great)
And I am just staring at my display
With no one around
To keep me sane
Something went wrong
What is going on?
"Call an ambulance!"
Hours of waiting
It feels excruciating
Until the doctor tells him what happened
"Sir you have a genetic heart disease"
(What?)
Red and blue lights blind me
And I stare at the ground emptily
(Please survive)
Days and weeks later
Still on that hospital bed, still not better
Through so many surgeons
His condition only worsens
If this is his end
I must recall our happy moments
(There must be plenty!)
But I cannot remember
What is he like?
I know he pushed me on my bike
That was our last adventure
Always at work
We should be way closer
I continue to search
(Please find something)
We were never strangers
So why does he feel like one?
I will regret this once he is gone
He is a family member!
His emotions are what I lack
Finally, a month later he comes back
And I feel no joy, only relief
We stare at each other and...!
Shake hands.
(I do not understand)
Everything stayed the same
Should I be happy?
(Yay?)
We do not talk, we do not play games
In fact, he avoids me
(At least he survived?)
