Oakley didn't know how long she had been staring at Kayce.

The pair were in Kayce's office, Tate still at Tlyer's, and the twins up front with Barbara. When Kayce called Oakley, he told her to get them and come to his office as soon as possible. After stopping for an ice cream, the twins didn't seem to be phased by any of this.

Oakley was sitting on one of the chairs opposite Kayce's desk. He was standing in front of her, leaning back on the desk. They hadn't said much to each other in the past few minutes. Oakley looked down at Kayce's knuckles holding the edge of the desk. They weren't white, but the grip was strong. She didn't know much about Kayce's phone call with the reporter, but Kayce telling her to come here was enough for Oakley to know that everything wasn't okay.

She leaned forward, resting her arms on her knees. Kayce looked up at her due to her movements. Oakley tilted her head, offering him a small smile.

"We can't stay here all day, Kayce," She said softly.

"I know," Kayce sighed.

Oakley nodded and stood up slowly.

"Do you want to tell me what happened?" Oakley asked.

"The uh, gist of it," Kayce cleared his throat. "Is she has everything my father's done in the last two decades or so...everything from land buyouts, reservation deals, Beck Brothers, train station, missing reporters, things I wasn't even here for...you name it."

Oakley crossed her arms. Kayce looked up at her.

"Think this might be it, baby," Kayce said.

She didn't know what he meant by that though.

"Might be the end of Dad," Kayce said.

"So...you're gonna turn on him?" Oakley asked.

Kayce gave her a curious look.

"Thought we already talked about that?" Kayce asked her.

"We did," Oakley nodded. "And I'm not doing anything but asking you questions, Kayce."

She stepped over to lean against the desk next to him.

"But, in your conversation with the reporter," Oakley looked at Kayce, bringing her hand up to smooth back some of his hair. "Did you ever ask her who put her on to this story?"

"She wouldn't tell me," Kayce shook his head. "And yeah...I've had that in the back of my mind too."

"Do you want to know who your father said it was?" Oakley lowered her voice.

Kayce's eyes shot back to her.

"Take it with a grain of salt," Oakley shrugged.  "But it was from the horse's mouth...your father said it was Lawrence."

Kayce didn't say anything as he turned more to face Oakley. Her hand dropped from the side of his face to rest against his arm.

"Why would Lawrence try to take out his Lieutenant Governor running mate?" Kayce asked.

"I don't know," Oakley shook her head. "But...there is something inside of me that..."

"Believe's my dad?" Kayce offered.

"I can't place it," Oakley frowned. "But it's there."

Kayce stood up and sighed, running his fingers through his hair as he paced around for a moment. Oakley looked at the toe of her boots against the carpet of the office.

"I've been good."

Oakley looked back up at Kayce who was now looking out one of his windows. He looked over at Oakley.
