Elliot

"That's Luna?" Brandon murmurs, staring at the wolf in awe.

"Yeah." I give him a smile.

"Wow."

He's speechless, like me.

Luna is the Alpha female, basically, the mother of the pack.

The drive to my pack is exactly thirty-six hours, a long drive.

After traveling silently for a few hours, a fearful scream rips through the air.

I quickly pull over, grateful for the back road we are on.

Opening the door to the backseat of the car, my mate stops screaming when she sees me.

"Hey." I mutter sweetly, "Remember me? We're going to my pack."

She looks up at me with her beautiful green doe eyes. This is the first time I've seen her in light.

I watch as she shivers and I realize she's just in a t-shirt.

I hand her my jacket and watch as she curls up.

Her contentedness leaves when she sees Brandon and she whimpers, agitated.

"That's my beta, Brandon. He won't hurt you."

She relaxes but watches him warily.

Brandon holds out his hand and gives her a goofy grin,"Hiya!"

"Mine." My wolf growls.

"It's just Brandon. It's okay."

Sometimes I converse with my wolf. It's like talking to yourself, but the other you is power hungry, possessive, and always seeking revenge. My wolf is also a sweetheart, and likes tell me about all his mushy fantasies.

It's disturbing.

"We don't have any food, and it's getting late. We will stop tomorrow and get something to eat. Is that alright?"

I watch in amazement as she gives me a beautiful half smile and a nod.

I turn away, only to turn back, "I don't know your name."

She signals for a piece of paper and I hand her an old receipt and a pen.

"Echo."
