Rishab POV continues….

For a few moments, I couldn’t understand why she was apologizing to me.

If anything, I should be thanking her for helping me get out of Nithya’s mess. I still didn’t know how she got Nithya to confess the truth. My mind was swirling with confusion as I tried to process everything.

What happened to her? Why was she acting so strangely?

I turned slightly toward her and gently placed my hand on her shoulder. "Is everything okay?" I asked softly.

To my surprise, she suddenly moved away but kept holding onto my hand. She raised her head to look at me, her eyes filled with fear and hesitation. I could tell she was hiding something.

"Ishu...what’s wrong?" I asked, my concern growing. I couldn’t stand seeing her like this.

Her lips trembled, and tears welled up in her eyes. "Will you be angry with me after I tell you what I did?" she asked in a shaky voice.

I frowned, feeling my heart ache at her vulnerability. I cupped her face gently and shook my head. "How could I ever be angry with my wife?" I said, trying to reassure her.

I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and gently said, "Tell me, Ishu…"

She clung to me tightly and started sobbing. "I’m a bad wife…I shouldn’t have done what I did. But I had no other option to make Nithya confess her lies…"

Seeing her so broken, I couldn’t bear it. I gently cradled her and pulled her onto my lap. Without hesitation, she placed her head on my chest and wrapped one arm around my torso, seeking comfort.

"I promise, Ishu, I won’t be mad at you after hearing what you did," I assured her softly.

She pressed her chin against my chest and looked up at me with tear-filled eyes. "Promise?" she asked again, needing reassurance.

I gave her a small smile and nodded. "Promise," I said firmly.

Satisfied, she lowered her eyes and rested her head back on my chest, hesitating before speaking.

"I…I prepared…a fake divorce copy…" she began, her voice trembling.

My brows furrowed as I listened closely.

"The document said…you’re…not straight," she stammered, her voice barely audible.

I froze as she continued in a whisper, "It stated that…you’re more interested in…men than women."

My eyes widened in utter disbelief.

"What?!" I exclaimed, completely taken aback. "Are you serious?!"

She nodded her head, still avoiding my gaze. Her fingers clutched the fabric of my shirt, her grip trembling slightly.

I stared at her, completely speechless. My emotions tangled into a confusing knot. Should I be angry? Upset that she’d go to such an extreme? Or…should I feel relieved and even grateful that she went to such lengths to protect me?

"Ishu…" I finally said, my voice softer than I intended.

Her head remained down, and she whispered, "I’m sorry…I didn’t know what else to do. I thought if they believed that, they’d stop meddling in our lives. It was the only way I could think of to expose her lies without hurting your parents or reputation…"
