A sense of urgency buzzed through the air as the voice of a high-ranking official crackled through the transponder snail. The sharp, almost impatient tone pierced through the chaotic backdrop of battle.
“Tell me. Have you caught Straw Hat and the Wind Demon who invaded the main island?” the voice demanded.
A shaken agent crouched behind the shattered remains of a wall, his face pale and drenched in sweat. He fumbled with his words, trembling as he spoke into his own snail. “Y-Yessir! Um… I estimate around… 800.”
“Eight hundred?” The voice on the other end paused, confusion creeping into the tone. “What are you talking about?”
In the distance, the sounds of battle roared louder. Y/N and Luffy tore through the forces opposing them, their energy relentless and unyielding. The clash of fists against steel and the shrieks of wind cutting through the air formed a violent symphony.
“Casualties!” the agent finally shouted, clutching the transponder snail tightly as though it were his lifeline.
“What?! Casualties?!” The voice on the other end was incredulous now. “They’ve beaten 800 guards?!”
The agent winced, panic flooding his voice. “Uh… No, sir! Sorry—I’ll need to revise that estimate…” His voice trailed off as he peeked over the rubble, just in time to see Luffy hurtling toward a cluster of Marines.
“Outta the way!” Luffy shouted, his rubber fist stretching and slamming into a wall of soldiers, scattering them like leaves in a storm.
“They’re so annoying!” Y/N growled, his eyes narrowing at the sea of enemies still swarming them. His tone was edged with frustration, but his focus remained unbroken. He turned to Luffy and barked, “Luffy, go on ahead! I’ll take care of the rest!”
“Got it!” Luffy nodded without hesitation, launching himself further into the fray. His fists and feet moved like whirlwinds, punching and kicking anyone who dared block his path.
Y/N rolled his shoulders, a slow smirk tugging at his lips. The air shifted—silent for a mere moment before roaring to life. He bent his knees, then shot upward, propelled high above the battlefield as the wind coiled beneath him like a living entity.
With his hand outstretched a sudden, violent gust of wind exploded outward, crashing into the nearest building with the force of a tidal wave. The structure groaned, its foundation giving way beneath the sheer power that had struck it. With a deafening roar, the entire thing collapsed, chunks of stone and debris raining down onto the Marines below, burying them beneath its weight.
But Y/N wasn’t finished, twisting mid-air, he drew his arms back before hurling another powerful blast downward. The wind surged with merciless fury, sweeping through the battlefield like a monstrous wave, uprooting everything in its path. Marines were lifted off their feet, their weapons wrenched from their hands, their bodies flung helplessly into the distance as though they were nothing more than ragdolls.
The agent’s breath stuttered. His mind could barely process what he was witnessing.
“Th-There are… over a thousand—!” His voice cut off into a strangled gasp as an unseen force suddenly struck him, sending him crashing into the rubble with a force that knocked the air from his lungs. The transponder snail slipped from his grasp, landing with a dull clatter against the broken stone before the connection cut off entirely.
“Half of you, fall back to the island gate!” another agent bellowed, desperation dripping from his voice as he struggled to restore order. “Pirates have breached the city! We must stop them!”
