“Uwaaaaaaahhhhh!! You’re really leaving already, Luffy-sama?!” Shirahoshi’s voice trembled as she gently cradled Luffy in her massive palm. “We’ve only just truly become friends—can't you stay just a little longer...? Maybe another day...? Or a week...? No, even better... another year! Please!”
Luffy looked up at her with a soft frown. “You really do cry every time I see you,” he mumbled.
“I-I’m so sorry!” Shirahoshi sniffled, her huge eyes brimming again. “I’ll stop being such a crybaby—I really will! I promise!”
“It's over... It’s really over,” Usopp whimpered on the deck of Sunny, clinging to Chopper as if the two were about to be carried off by a storm. “We made an enemy of a Yonko… We’re not gonna last a day in the New World!”
Chopper wailed alongside him, tears leaking from his eyes as he imagined the horror. “Maybe—maybe Big Mom will forgive us... if we promise to give her all the treasure we ever find…!”
Off to the side, Minister of the Right leaned toward King Neptune with a whisper. “Your Majesty... how are we supposed to tell them that we already sent Big Mom a ticking time bomb, cleverly disguised as a gift?”
Neptune’s expression tensed. He leaned closer. “That bomb… It’s been sealed inside that box for ten years, hasn’t it? Perhaps… perhaps the humidity of the Ryugu Palace has rendered it inert. There’s a chance—it might not even detonate.”
“That’s the spirit, Your Majesty! Positive thinking!” the Minister of the Right replied, barely holding back his panic. “It’s true! It’s so damp here, the mechanisms might be ruined. Besides, there’s no guarantee Big Mom will be the one to open it, is there? Hah... Hahaha… Let’s just… hope for the best!”
Nearby, Robin arched a brow. “What are those two whispering about?”
Meanwhile, Nami had just been handed something strange. She held it up to the light, squinting.
“Huh? What’s this?” she asked.
The Minister of the Left stepped forward with a solemn nod. “That is a New World Log Pose. Please accept it as a token of our gratitude. You’ll find… a single needle will not be enough to survive what lies ahead. You’ll need this.”
Nami’s brows furrowed. “Wait... Three needles? Why are there three?”
The Minister gestured for her to look at the old Log Pose strapped to her wrist. “Compare it to the one you’ve been using through the first half of the Grand Line.”
“Whoa!” Luffy dropped down, landing beside them with a grin. “That new one looks way cooler!”
“I thought the old log had already settled,” Nami murmured, narrowing her eyes as she watched the faint twitch of the old needle. “But it’s still moving... just a little.”
“That’s expected,” the Minister explained. “From this point forward, Log Poses will settle within half a day. The real difference now... is choice.”
He pointed to the trio of needles, all trembling at different rates. “Each of these needles is attuned to a different island within the New World. You must choose one path... and only one. But be warned—the route you take may well determine your fate.”
He stepped closer, his voice lowering with gravity. “As a general rule—the more erratically the needle moves, the more dangerous that island is likely to be. Unstable readings mean chaos. Something on that island is disrupting the very magnetic field itself.”
“EHHH?!” Nami’s eyes widened, and she quickly clutched the Log Pose to her chest. “That sounds horrible! I don’t want to know anymore!”
“But—but why?!” the Minister of the Left asked, clearly startled. “Without that foreknowledge, how can you avoid danger?”
