The air around the Thousand Sunny trembled as the ship rocketed into the sky, propelled by Coup de Burst. The Sunny pierced the clouds like a meteor. Then, the vessel began its descent, cutting through the sky and plummeting toward the heart of Fishman Island’s Gyoncord Plaza.
“Gaon Cannon… FIRE!!” Franky's voice thundered from the deck, his mechanical hands locked onto the controls.
In an instant, a blinding beam of energy surged from the Sunny’s cannon. The blast tore through the terrain just behind the shackled royal family—King Neptune and his sons. The sheer impact threw a group of Fishman pirates backward, their cries echoing as they were hurled across the plaza like rag dolls.
“Go for it, whale!!” Y/N grinned from the deck. With a proud bellow, the whale soared, its enormous body lifting the royal family into safety on its back.
“Hoeeeel!”
“They’ve taken back the royals!” panicked voices among the pirates rang out, their gazes tracking the rising whale with disbelief.
“What… what just happened?!” Neptune blinked, struggling to grasp the sudden shift. “It would seem… Jinbei had prepared some sort of strategy with the Straw Hat Pirates…”
“ARGHH! It’s them—the Straw Hats!! They’re all here!!!” chaos erupted as the realization set in among the enemy forces, some pointing, others retreating.
From above, civilians watched with wide eyes and trembling hands, calling out to the group now standing tall in the plaza. “Straw Hat Luffy! Are you really here to destroy Fishman Island?!” someone cried from the terrain above the battlefield.
“Why did you take over the palace?!” another shouted in confusion.
“Have you been kidnapping mermaids?!” the civilians demanded, desperate for truth amidst the rumors and fear.
“Just tell us one thing!” a final voice cried. “Are you enemies of Fishman Island… or are you our allies?!”
Luffy stood in the center, arms crossed, a serious look set across his face as the wind tousled his straw hat. His crew flanked him—Y/N, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, Brook and Franky, standing behind, while Robin and Nami who, along with Luffy had arrived earlier, remained near the Sunny.
“Enemies or allies…?” Luffy tilted his head slightly, then narrowed his eyes, voice resolute. “How about… you decide that for yourselves?!”
The children of the island, having witnessed it all, cried out with innocent certainty: “Straw Hat Luffy is a pirate—and a human—but he’s on our side! Even Princess Shirahoshi asked him for help!”
“He’s here to save the island with Boss Jinbei!!” they shouted, their voices full of hope and admiration.
“Hahahah…” Zeo snarled from nearby, sneering. “The brat’s become rather popular, I see. But don’t let it get to your head just because the king’s free—for now!! You filthy, human pirates!!”
But before his rage could boil further, a new voice interjected
“—The mermaid princess is as beautiful as the rumors said! Yohohoho!” Brook chimed, turning to Shirahoshi. “Say, would you be so kind as to show me your—”
A fist collided with Brook’s skull. Nami scowled, arm still extended.
“Nami-san!!” Sanji cried out. “I saved all these fools from the palace! Do you love me now?!”
“You did?!” Y/N raised a brow, turning toward Sanji with a scoff. “I was the one who got them out of the cage!”
“Oh, shut up,” Zoro growled. “We made it to the exit ourselves.”
