The moment they reached Level Six, Y/N felt his chest tighten with anticipation. The air was thick with the oppressive silence of the prison's deepest, darkest level—a place where only the worst of the worst were left to rot.

But none of that mattered.

Luffy's voice rang out like a desperate plea, raw with emotion."ACE!!!"

They sprinted to where his cell was supposed to be, feet pounding against the cold stone floor. But the moment they reached it, an unbearable weight settled over them. The cell was empty.

Y/N's breath hitched, his pulse hammering. His eyes darted around the prison, searching for something—anything—that would tell him this wasn't real. That Ace was still here.

A sickening dread crawled up his spine as he muttered, almost in disbelief, "Ha... Ha... He's not here..."

Ivankov's eyes widened as panic took hold. He grabbed a nearby guard—one who was barely clinging to consciousness—and shook him violently.

"There's no mistake! This was his cell! NO MISTAKE! NO MISTAKE!!!"

Y/N clenched his fists. His mind was racing, his chest tightening. They were supposed to reach him in time—Ace was supposed to be here.

"Are you Straw Hat Luffy and Wind Demon Y/N!?"

The sudden voice made Y/N's head snap toward one of the nearby cells. A fishman, his features hardened with time and experience, was gripping the iron bars, his gaze locked onto them with urgency.

Luffy, still reeling, barely managed a nod. "...Yeah."

"They just came a moment ago! Go after them!" The man's voice was sharp, commanding. "They took Ace up the lift!!"

Y/N's brows furrowed as he turned to face the man properly. "Who are you, old man?"

"No time for that! If you hurry, you can still make it! Go!!!"

Luffy didn't hesitate, nodding quickly. "Got it! Thanks! I don't really know who you are, though!"

Inazuma, standing ahead, suddenly pointed toward something. "That must be it! The lift's gate is still open!"

They all bolted toward it, their feet barely touching the ground as they sprinted. But the moment Ivankov reached the wheel that operated the lift, his face darkened. He gripped the mechanism and yanked but nothing.

"The wheel is locked! It won't move!" Ivankov gritted his teeth as he struggled against it.

Y/N ran up beside him, peering down into the abyss below the lift. Darkness stretched endlessly beneath them.

"We can't use it!? But if we climb up here, we might still make it..." His voice trailed off as he considered the climb.

Before he could act, Inazuma suddenly grabbed him and yanked him backward. "LOOK OUT!!!"

A split second later, a barrage of massive steel spikes came crashing down through the open lift shaft, impaling the floor where Y/N had just stood. The force of the impact sent a deafening clang echoing through the prison.

Y/N's eyes narrowed. "Of course they wouldn't let us get up that easily..."

Ivankov scoffed. "Tch! Our hands are tied! We can't use the lift—"

Before he could finish, Luffy was already dashing toward the stairwell. "Then we'll just take the stairs we used to get down here!"

But the moment they reached it, the reality of the situation hit them like a slap to the face.
