(Rimuru POV)
When we hit the ground we find a dark unlit cavern and a large dome like structure. We stand at its center ready to face another piece of my soul.
A light blue silhouette vaguely resembling a human stood before us seemingly ready for us to appear.
<<Report. Individual containing Masters soul is a being of liquid metal. It's composition is mainly that of what is known in this world as mithril>>
I nod to myself and immediately rush towards the humanoid monster.
Letting loose a slash I interrupt its thin sword like arm from slicing the three of us to pieces. Aiz reacts next and Sophia shortly afterwards.
Several thin metallic limbs sprout from various spots on this monster's body and begin to violently whip around.
"Tch," I step in blocking them to the best of my ability. The few that managed to make it through my defense were blocked by Aiz.
It was targeting the weaker members first.
And while I had the stamina to keep this up all day I couldn't say the same for those two.
"Alright then,"
I generate black flames on my blade and use <strengthen body> to increase the weight of my blows.
In an instant I go from merely blocking the limbs to slicing clean through it.
I make sure to activate a multi-layer barrier around my body and keep my attention on the detached pieces of liquid metal while I fight with <parallel processing>.
They aren't moving, I note. Once detached the pieces of mithril didn't take any extra actions.
A possible trick so I'm not going to claim they can't move at all but for the moment I was safe.
I continue to slash through the limbs slowly but surely whittling down its range. It couldn't afford to keep going like this.
As if sensing this it quickly shifted strategy.
Retracting its several limbs the metal on its back swelled turning into a pair of metallic wings.
I look back at Sophia and Aiz for a moment. They seem fine, Sophia mumbles something to Aiz, but I don't have time to worry about that.
Turning my attention back to the fight I watch as the monster jumps into the air above us and launches a barrage of metal rain.
An attack like that won't do you any good. I think to myself. The projectiles were significantly weaker than the previous attacks so merely leaving my multi-layer barrier on was enough to deflect.
I hear chanting of words in what I can only assume to be a spell coming from Sophia.
I look over to see Sophia shielding Aiz and herself from the rain using the jacket I gave her.
There were visible bruises on her arms and legs already, but the jacket did mitigate most of the damage. She couldn't stay like that though.
I moved to cast a barrier to fully protect the–
<<Warning. Attack incoming.>>
My eyes widened.
But I expected that!
I quickly jump out of the way as the liquid metal that was spread across the ground begins to come to life in the form of sharp sword-like tentacles and begins to violently swing about.
