(Gluttony POV)
"Here should be fine," I mumble to myself as I sit before a large lake spanning almost as far as the eye can see.
I dip one foot in as I allow myself some peace for a moment. I stare down into the lake, my golden eyes staring coldly back.
I had finished satiating myself for the moment. Which meant now I had to wait once more until more adventurers came down to this level. I had gotten into the habit of resting my body after consuming the adventures that wandered down here. I had found that increasing my level of activity would decrease the time of sanity I bought with consummation.
I needed to conserve energy in order to remain as I was. If I didn't do that much the amount of people I killed would dramatically increase.
...
Still I wasn't sure if that was an issue of conscience or I was merely worried that I'd attract too much attention that way.
I didn't like the lack of control I had when my gluttony took over, but...I would be lying if I said letting loose didn't feel pleasant.
Still...just a few more. I thought to myself. I wasn't quite sure why, but mortals here did a far better job at culling my hunger than monsters. According to Great Sage, the reason for that was the Falna engraved on their backs from powerful beings. When I managed to talk to the adventures that came down here, and it seems like this "Falna," was a result of the blood of gods.
I contemplated this for a moment. If I absorbed enough Falna according to Great sage I would be able to dissipate the hunger I felt and I could finally stop this.
Just a few more and–
It happened then. A sudden overpowering aura engulfed the entire Floor of the dungeon.
<<Warning–>>
Yeah I know! I interrupted.
I gripped my jagged sword and whipped around to the source.
Nothing.
No clear indicator of what it was.
Yet, the aura didn't cease. It was far enough away that even with magic sense I couldn't make out what it was.
It was cold.
I had temperature fluctuation resistance, but even despite that an indescribable chill ran through me.
My feet shifted back slightly and the grip on my blade tightened.
I sucked in a breath and began to rush through the floor in search of the source.
It didn't take long. But even though I found it, what I saw defied my understanding.
Afterall, who wouldn't be confused to see a mirror image of themselves.
...I have clones but... this was distinctly different. This wasn't a skill or magic or anything like that. This thing before me was a part of me. A piece.
A deep itch in my chest began to burst forth from within me upon my sensing it.
It didn't take long before I was standing right in front of it.
Unlike my black hooded robe, the one before me wore a simple white shirt and grey shorts. It was unstained by anything. No blood, dirt or grime was on it.
I carefully scrutinized the being before me but all it offered up in return was a blank expression.
"What...are you?" I eventually asked, circling it slowly.
