Chapter - 11 (BROKEN IN PIECES)

Press Conference :
Manik turned around to leave the hall right away..as he
had enough of there nonsense..but when he turned
around..he got the biggest shock..he didn't expected
HER to be there..he saw NANDINI ..standing in front of
him..yes..she did listened his loud and clear
confession..
She was also shocked but his sudden outburst..she lost
her sanity..just when she heard "ZINDAGI HAI WOH
MERI.." from manik's mouth...
Manik came towards her..with slow steady steps..he
looked at her..and she was constantly gazing at
him..as trying to figure out something from his eyes..
Manik : "nan..naandiinii..maaiii..maaaii
wwoohhh.."...he was stammering badly..irony..the
person who was shouting till yet..yelling at the
reporters..is now hesitating in front of a commoner..
She looked at him..with tears in her eyes..he
knows..she is hurt..even by his confession..before he
can say anything else..what she said to him next..left
him baffled..
Nandini : "pyaar jaise pak shabd ka majak mat
banao..Mr.Manik Malhotra.." ...she said in a cold stern
voice..and he was rooted at his place..he low down his
head in front of her..as he knew..whatever happened in
past..is the soul reason of her not believing on his love
confession..
She wiped away her tears..looked at reporters and
came towards the one ...whom Manik beaten badly..
Nandini : "bina sach jaane..ap sab kuch bhi publish kar
dete ho..jis insaan ko ap sab ne milkar hero banaya..ek
second nahi lagta ..ap sabko..usi insaan ki image ko
destroy karne mei..Manik malhotra..is all clean..usne
kuch galat nahi kiya hai..use frame karne se pehle
..better hoga..agar ap sab milkar..sach janne ki
koshish kare.."...she said in a very soft tone..which left
all the reporters guilty..and she turned around to leave
the place..
Reporter : "aapne unhe save karne ke liye..apni
image..ko kyu stake pe rakh diya?.."...this sudden
question of the reporter made manik look at her...
She herself ..didn't wanted to answer the question..but
then she looked at manik..who had some hopes in his
eyes..
Nandini : "because..yesterday night..he saved an
NGO'S kids..he provided them shelter..just to payback i
did all this.."..her voice was so cold..that nobody can
figure out ..she was lying..she walked out of the
place..leaving manik all shattered...he never imagined
that he had hurt her to this extent..that she had actually
lost all her belief ..not only from him..but from herself
as well..
He ran out..to confront her..but she was faster than
him..she sat inside the auto and left out...he came out
and saw her left..he was again disappointed..
Manik : "kese samjhau tumhe..ki i want you back..i
want my maa back..manta hoon..bahut badhi galti ki
hai maine..but please give me punishment ..but come
back..i need you..i ...i really do.."...he said looking in
the straight direction..holding pain..grief and guilt in his
voice..
Navniti Residence :
She came inside the house all shattered..her eyes were
teary..her state was all messed..she was looking
down..anyone can tell in one glimpse of her..that she
has broken in pieces..yes..its her breaking point..all
these years..she bonded all the pain in her heart..but
today..it seems like..the flood has really passed the
danger level..and now..she won't be able to gather
herself anymore...
Mukti..cabir and Navya..ran towards her..just when
she entered inside..they were shocked to hell..after
seeing her detroiting condition..
Mukti : "nandini..kya hua tujhe..nandini please meri
taraf ..please angel dekh na meri taraf.."...she was
trying hard to make nandini looked at her..
Nandini slowly raised her eyes to look at her..and said
in low voice..
Nandini : "I lost.."...her these two words which escaped
from her mouth made all the three stunned..while
nandini collapsed on the ground within a second..she
was crying..yelling..beating her hands on the floor...
Her friends was not able to see her like that..Cabir who
was watching all this..can't take it more..he just can't
see her like that..he ran outside holding tears...
Mukti sat down beside her and hugged her tight..while
Nandini was crying badly..
Nandini : "he..he said ..he love me..really?..he love
me?..no..he only love himself..agar woh mujhse pyaar
karta na..toh wo..wo kabhi nahi karta..kyu kiya ..usne
wo sab kuch..kyuuu...kyu mukti..kyu..?"...she said
while crying so badly that navya and mukti cried as
well..navya who had no idea about manik and nandini's
past connection..still crying..after watching her always
smiling nandini..
Mukti : "shhh..please angel..chup ho ja..please.."..she
tried hard to console her..but all in vain..as the water
level rises over her head..it is not easy to bind so much
of pain..sorrow..inside yourself..behind your smile..but
when one does so..it only leads to destruction...silence
sometimes kills...
Nandini was still crying in mukti's arms..it almost half n
hour..but she was not stopping her weeps..she was
destroyed from inside..constant crying made her state
worse..her breath wasn't normal at all..and she
fainted...mukti and navya was terrified...
Mukti : "nandini..nandini..open your
eyes..please.."..she said panickly..Navya helped mukti
to take nandini inside her room..
Malhotra Mansion :
Cabir entered inside the mansion like a storm..although
guards were trying their best to stop cabir..but he was
in no mood to listen anything..
Cabir : "Maniikk.."..he shouted in high pitch voice..
Guards came towards him..and hold him back from his
shoulder..and start dragging him outside..but he was
still facing his front inside the mansion..
Manik saw Cabir from upstairs..and shouted at peak of
his voice..
Manik : "leave him..."...he shouted..and guards within a
second left him..after listening manik's stern voice..
Manik came down running and shouted again on the
guards..
Manik : "how dare you touch him?,,you all are
fired..LEAVE..",..he shouted at the guards..and they all
left lowering their heads down..
Manik came towards cabir and placed his hand on his
shoulder..but cabir jerked his hand off his
shoulder..Manik looked at him with
disappointment..and Cabir looked at him with hurt and
anger..
Cabir : "kya kiya tune is baar?.."..she shouted after
grabbing manik's collar..manik looked at him in
confusion..
Manik : "what do you mean?.."..he asked in confusion..
Cabir : "what do i mean?.."..after saying so..he left
manik's collar and manik jolted back..while cabir
continued .."itna innocent mat ban..like you don't know
anything..kya kaha tune nandini ko ?..jo she is all
shattered..she was crying badly..KYA KAHA
TUNE?.."..he shouted while saying last line..
Manik : was numb "she..she was shattered?.."..he
murmured to himself while looking down..and then
looked at cabir..
Cabir : "yes..she is shattered..wo toh usi din tut gayi thi
manik...but she didn't showed her pain to anyone..and
left that place..she left that city..but tera saaya ..it
always followed her..i wonder..itna kese gir gaya
tu..apni khushi ke liye..apne satisfaction ke liye you
used her manik..and threw her like a tissue.."..he said
in disgust while manik closed his eyes after listening
such bad words..
Manik : "bas kar cabir please.."..he pleaded and turned
his face..
Cabir : "kyu ?...ab suna bhi nahi jaa raha?..par tujhe
sunna parega manik..hume se kisi ne tujhe kuch nahi
kaha..janna nahi chahega kyu?.,.in 3 saalo mei hamei
se koi bhi tere samne nahi aaya..tujhe ek baar bhi us
baat ke liye kisi ne kuch nahi kaha?...kabhi socha esa
kyu?.."...now manik turned his face to look at cabir..
Cabir : "kyunki nandini..nahi chahti thi..ki hum mei se
koi bhi ..tujhe embarass kare...hamei se koi bhi tujhe
kuch bhi galat bole..han..manik malhotra..woh
ladki..whom you destroyed badly..she never wanted
any of us..to come and shout on you..to say any bad
words to you.."...he said making him realize that even
after getting ruined by him..nandini was always there to
protect him..
Manik was shocked..he never knew..that nandini had
stopped all of them..he had expected harsh words from
all of them..but none of them came and confronted
him..
Cabir : "par..mai..mai teri shakal bhi nahi dekhna
chahta tha..she said to me before leaving that i
shouldn't leave you..because you have no one other
than me..but ..tu deserve he nahi karta..ki tere sath koi
ho ..manik..yes..tu deserve he nahi karta..mai isliye
chala gaya tha..kyunki i hate..i hate your name
also.."...cabir was spitting anger on him..which was
buried from last 3 years in his heart..while manik was
bearing all those words..as he knows..he deserved all
this humiliation..
Just then cabir got the call from mukti..and she
informed that nandini has fainted..so cabir ran out
within a second..leaving a shattered baffled manik
behind...
Manik : "kya kardia mene..apne aap ko satisfy karne ke
liye..i ruined everything..she always protected me...aur
maine usi ke sath..."..he himself wasn't able to
complete his sentence..
Navniti Residence :
It's almost 8 in night..
Nandini gained consciousness by now..but wasn't
talking to anyone..she grabbed the teddy from the other
end of bed and hugged it night..mukti navya and cabir
was equally shattered after watching her like that...
Nandini : "i want to sleep..'..she said without looking at
them..and they all moved out...
She brought out her diary from the side table's
drawer..and start writing..
ek waqt woh bhi tha,
mere kareeb tu tha,
teri ehsaas mei palti thi mai,
meri zehn mei bas tu tha...
naa jaane kab tu badal gaya,
mere saaye ko bhi le gaya,
ek waqt woh bhi tha,
jab tu mera,sirf mera tha...
kis gunaah ki saza suna di,
mujhse meri he hasi chura li,
har waqt jo mjhe satata tha,
kya sach mei mera woh pyaar tu tha..
aaj suna jo tujhse maine,
kya woh sach mei sach tha,
ya mjhe marne ka,
tera koi naya tareeka tha..
dekh kitni bikhar gayi mai,
sheeshe ki tarah tut gayi mai,
kya yehe tu chahta tha,
mjhse mjhe cheen kar,
kaunsa sukoon tujhe mila tha...
ek waqt woh bhi tha,
mere kareeb tu tha,
teri ehsaas mei palti thi mai,
meri zehn mei bas tu tha...
after writing this poem..a tear fell down from her
eyes..and she closed her diary and rested her head on
bed rest..closed her eyes..
Just then Manik entered inside the navniti residence...
Mukti saw him with great anger and pushed him
outside..but cabir held her hand ..as manik was
continuously pleading to let him meet nandini..after
cabir's insist mukti let him in and manik ran inside
nandini's room...
He opened the door and saw nandini resting her head
on head board of bed..her eyes were closed but tears
were flowing down from it..
Manik : "nandini.."..he called her softly and she opened
her eyes to look at him..
