{Harry's Point of View}

I stretched out beneath the blanket Kate had given me. The sofa was stiff, more for sitting than sleeping. I thought about quietly getting up and leaving for my house so I could sleep in my own bed, but that's not what Kate wanted and that's not really what I wanted. So, I let out a long sigh and tried to ignore the discomfort.

I bit my lip as I started thinking about the whole situation. My girlfriend, my best friend, my universe no longer knew me. It was like the color had been drained from my world. When Kate would look at me before, there was so much in her eyes: affection, curiosity, emotion. Now, her eyes were blank whenever they met mine. That hurt the most.

My phone vibrated on the floor beside the sofa. I reached down and picked it up. I had received an email from the management team. I frowned at the short message, not even bothering to read it. I locked my phone screen, but didn't put the phone on the floor.

There was such a buildup of emotions that my mind couldn't slow down. Seven months was a long time to make up with someone. Especially when I had a very limited amount of time I could devote to making it up. I was busy. I had performances and appearances. I had shows and interviews. I had to be photographed going and doing and seeing. The number of obligations I had was overwhelming.

I knew I was capable of balancing that and reestablishing my relationship with Kate, but I was slowly getting the impression that she wasn't interested. That scared me so much. We were perfectly in sync before, and now she wanted me to sleep on a terribly uncomfortable sofa away from her. My biggest fear was that Kate was going to give up and move on, blissfully unaware of what we had just days ago.

I didn't even realize what I was doing until I heard his voice through the phone. "Hello?"

"Louis, it's me," I said quietly into the phone, careful not to wake Kate up.

"Hi, mate. Haven't heard from you in a few days. Why are you calling?"

"Yeah, sorry. It's just...I'm losing my mind here."

"What's got you?"

"Are you busy?"

"No, I'm not."

I thought about telling him everything. Julia had made it clear that we shouldn't tell many people, but I needed to get it off my chest. I trusted Louis. "I have something to tell you, but it has to stay quiet. I'm serious, Lou."

"What's the secret, Harry? Have you gotten yourself arrested or something?"

"Swear you won't say anything," I hissed over the phone.

"Alright! I swear," Louis chuckled.

I ran my hand through my hair over and over. It was a nervous habit. "You saw the video of Kate passing out, I'm assuming."

"Yeah..."

"Well she hit her head pretty hard."

"How is she?"

"She's doing better now, but she has a wicked concussion. Like the lights hurt her eyes, she gets massively dizzy, and she gets really bad headaches."

"Brutal, mate. I feel terrible."

I paused; I could end the conversation here and make Louis believe that her concussion was all I had called about. I swallowed hard, "That's not all."

"Okay," Louis said slowly.

"Kate has amnesia."

"She what?"
