Maks pov
I was waiting at my house for Peta to call me. I've been texting her like crazy and leaving voicemails. I call her again.
"Hey it's Peta sorry I couldn't reach the phone"
I end it.
"Ugh what could she be doing"
I get in my car and drive to her place. I stop at the flower shop. I go in.
"Hey Maks" Mrs. Hobbes says.
"Hey" I say back. Ellie comes running out of the back. Ellie was the little girl that did the bakery.
"Maks I missed you"
"I was here two days ago"
I pick her up. I feel my phone buzz in my back pocket. I pull it out and see Peta is calling me.
"Hey, I've been calling you for an hour"
"Yeah sorry I was getting ready"
"Oh ok sorry I overloaded your phone"
"It's fine but can I ask where your at so I can come pick you up"
"No because I'm gonna be at your house in 10 minutes"
"Maks I'm coming to pick you up and where are you"
"I'm at the flower shop on the corner"
"Okay I'll be there in a couple of minutes"
She ends the call.
"Are we gonna meet the girl that you've been giving flowers to everyday for 4 months" Mrs. Hobbes asks.
"Yes" I say.
"Yay" Ellie says.
I start looking around at the flowers I could get for Peta. I hear the door open. I look over and see my pretty girl in a floral skater dress. I go over to her.
"You look gorgeous"
"Thank you" she said. I kiss her cheek.
"Hi you must be Peta"
"Hi, how do you know Maks"
"He comes here almost everyday to get flowers for you"
"Awe" she says.
"Maks I just got some chocolate chip cookies out of the oven" Ellie said running up to me. She looked over at Peta.
"You were right she is really pretty" she said looking at Peta. Peta smiled at me. I put my arm around her.
"You want to taste the best chocolate chip cookie in the world" I ask Peta.
"Sure" she says. Ellie runs back to her bakery and grabs three.
"Here you go" she said handing on to me and Peta. We both take a bite into them.
"Mm did you make these by yourself"
"I make the batter and grandma puts them in because I'm too young to"
"These are amazing" Peta said.
"Thank you" Ellie says smiling.
"El I'm gonna need a couple for the road"
"Okay" she said going back there. I grab Peta's hand and bring her back there with me. She put 4 cookies in a box and handed them to me.
"How much" I ask.
"Um each cookie is $1.50"
"Okay so $3 for 2 of them"
"And two is half the cookies you have, so $6"
"Good job El, now I've got a good problem for you" I say and hand her a 20.
"20 minus 6 equals 14" she says smiling big.
"Correct" I say. She hands me a ten and four 1's.
"I'll see ya tomorrow"
"Bye Maks, nice to meet you Peta"
"You two sweetie" she says to her. We get in our cars because we were going to my place.
When we get there I put the cookies on the counter. I pick Peta up and carry her to the couch. I lay her down and start kissing her neck.
"I love you"
"I love you too" she says.
"So Mrs. Hobbes was Ellie's grandma"
"Yes"
"Where are her parents"
"They died when she was 6 months old"
"Aw how old is she now"
"6" I say.
"She's adorable"
"I know" I say.
"Movies" she asked.
"No, because I made you something"
"What" she asked. I grab her hands.
"Close your eyes" I say. She closes them. I lead her out to the backyard.
"open them" I say to her. She opens her eyes and looks around in awe.
"Maks it's beautiful"
"You like it"
"Like it, I love it"
I smile at her. She gives me a hug. I pull her out and kiss her softly.
"Let's eat" I say. I scoot her chair in for her. We start eating. My phone starts ringing. I see a random number I decline the call and try to focus back on Peta. I get another call from the same number. I answer it this time.
"Hello" I say.
"Maks it's Ellie, grandma just had a heart attack"
I drop my fork...
