Family Reunion

Clary's family are not shadow hunters.

[Warning: This is the worst thing I have EVER written.]

Clary's POV

"You have to come Jace." I say to him, straitening his shirt.

"Why, I won't know anyone there." Jace says.

"You'll know me." I say, pulling a sweatshirt over my head.

"But Clary this is your whole family. What if they don't like me?" Jace says.

"They will like you Jace, they don't have any reason not to." I assure him.

"We have to go." He says looking at his watch.

I finally get to see my family! I think. I haven't seen them in 3 years.

"So how big is your family?" Jace asks me.

"Well my grandma had 5 kids and most of them had 3 or 4." I count.

"So about 25-30 plus my grandmas sister had a lot of kids."

"So like 150 people in my whole family, though I haven't met most of them." I say.

We get in the car and head out to Luke's farmhouse. I look over at Jace and he actually seems nervous. I have never seen Jace nervous before.

"It'll be fine." I say running my finger over his knuckles.

He looks at me for a second and then puts his eyes back on the road. He takes my hand and I squeeze it, but I don't think it helps his nervousness.

"Seriously Jace stop worrying about it, we're still 2 and a half hours away."

I turn on the radio and start to sing.

"I got a fire for a heart I'm not scared of the dark never seen it look so easy."

"I got a river for a soul and baby your a boat, baby your my only reason."

"If I didn't have you there would be nothing left."

I look at Jace and see he's relaxed a little bit. I smile at him.

The whole way down Jace and I talked and sang.

Jace pulled in and I ran towards the big barn. I walked in and saw all the lanterns and candles hanging from the ceilings and on tables.

My mom comes up and hugs me.

"This place looks great mom!" I say.

"Where's Jace?" She ask me looking around. I look back and see that Jace didn't follow me inside.

I walk outside to see Jace talking to one of my cousins.

"Hi Haylee!" I say.

"Clary how are you? It's been so long." She says hugging me.

"I'm good this is my boyfriend Jace." I say to her.

"Nice to meet you." She says.

"You too." Jace says.

"Where's Kate?" I ask her.

"She coming, they got stuck in traffic." Haylee says.

"Cary!" A little toddler screams running towards me.

"Kenzie!" I say and pick her up.

"Cary." She repeats.

I smile at her and she gives me a hug. Then she points to Jace.
