Thirty Two

*Contains spoilers for the manga/ new anime season*

The students simultaneously closed their book as the teacher announced the end of class. [Name] packed her belongings neatly into her bag, making sure she got everything. As she bent forward, re-arranging the things in her bag, she felt a tap on her shoulder and turned her head to the side. She was greeted by Yuki who smiled at her, waving her hand by her face.

"Ja, I'm going for practice now. I'll see you tomorrow, [Name]-chan." Said the blond, readjusting the bag in her hand. Her friend smiled at her, waving back in return.

[Name]'s eyes followed Yuki as the girl exited the classroom, disappearing behind the walls. She felt a sense of relief take over her. It had been a week since Yuki had returned to the girl's volleyball team. Ever since she returned to the team, she seemed more spirited and cheerful, back to doing what she loved. And that couldn't make her any happier to see her friend with the widest smile on her face every time she sees her.

On that note, she sighed at thought of the boy's team's current situation. Things changed after their return from the Tokyo camp, although it was just a couple of days ago.

Immediately after stepping a foot back in their school, Hinata and Kageyama collided into a fierce fight. It started out verbal and eventually, at the heat of the moment, fists were involved. It scared the living day lights of [Name] at the thought of it, hearing Tanaka shouting at both of the boys to stop. The second year managed to prevent their fight from getting any serious by giving the duo a taste of his fist, both at the same time.

Currently, the freak duo's relationship was extremely tensed. [Name], trying to be a friend to mend the situation, tried talking to the both of them but they refused to talk to each other. They snapped their heads away whenever their gazes came in a slight contact, refusing to give in to another.

Takeda had comforted the younger manager, telling her that things like that were bound to happen for a development to take place and that eventually things would work out. "These are the things they have to work on their own. As much as we want to help, it isn't our fight so we can't. So don't worry, [Name]-chan, and keep showing them your support." He had said.

The boys decided to practice separately. Each of them trying to polish an individual skill: Nishinoya trained himself to toss a ball; Asahi tackled the jump serve; Sugawara, Daichii, Tanaka and Ennoshita attempted to master a synchronized attack; Yamaguchi visited Shimada often to practice his serves; Kageyama stayed back late for his own training; Hinata underwent a private lesson (Coach Ukai didn't mention with whom).

And then there was Tsukishima.

While his teammates stayed up in school later than they usually would, he head home at the very second they were dismissed. Unlike his teammates, he didn't put an effort to double his practice or improve himself. It baffled her how he could sleep at night, knowing that he was the only one not attempting to step himself up.

"Let's borrow Ukai-san's IPad for a bit and get another look at that video of the synchronized attack." Daichii suggested after they were done with their practice matches. A week had gone by so quickly and they were back at Tokyo for their second collaborated training camp.

"Alright!" Sugawara agreed.

"Osu!" Tanaka yelled out enthusiastically.

"I'll go work on hitting serves." Asahi said. Yamaguchi overheard the third year and perked up at the word 'serves'. His face lit up with excitement. "I still have a long way to go."
