Appearance

Mamoru has short jet black hair with dyed streaks in front, which he constantly changes the colors. He has onyx eyes and many piercings on both his ears. He has a dialysis tube in his left arm. He often has a smirk on his face, which is easily misunderstood by a lot of people.

Personality

Mamoru is often misunderstood due to his 'bad boy' look with his dyed hair and many piercings and the rather intimidating smile on his face. Despite his looks, he is actually friendly person who mingles well. He is observant and picks up people's body language quickly. He knows what to say and what to do to evoke different reactions from different people.

He is also sly, like the time he asked [Name] out on a date despite knowing that he was going back on the same day, having Tsukishima to take his place.  However, he doesn't use his slyness in a bad way. He is understanding and supportive, especially after [Name] had told him she was returning to Miyagi for high school, even though he really wanted to go to the same high school as her. He also didn't confess his feelings for her because he knew she didn't return the same feelings and felt satisfied with their current relationship.

History

Mamoru was [Name]'s first friend when she moved to Tokyo in Middle School. They were classmates but only became friend when they met in the hospital when Mamoru was there for his dialysis session. He found her rather familiar and they found out that they were classmates, even though [Name] was barely in class.

Since then, Mamoru would always visit her whenever he went to the hospital for his dialysis. Slowly, they grew closer and became close friends. He would always try to make her feel more comfortable and secure whenever she was back in school. On his 13th birthday, [Name] had given him a distinct, matt black piercing in the shape of a cone. Unfortunately, the lost contact of each other when [Name] moved back to Miyagi.
