Camila's POV (Two weeks Later)

"Back so soon, Camila?" I take one last glance behind my shoulder, nodding softly before looking over at the green-eyed beauty.

"Yeah, I brought these from lunch today." I hold up a bowl of sweets, picking out my favorites for her to try. "I thought maybe you'd like to try them."

"Cool." Lauren grins. "Thanks. Just set them down over there." She nods over to a desk, where one of the drawers was halfway opened.

I walk over, placing them inside and shutting the old wood softly before turning around to find her writing in that book I had begun to hate. She had always been writing in it since our first encounter, but it was what kept her calm, so I accepted that.

It had been almost two weeks after our first encounter, which was less than what I thought she would last. It wasn't the best first impression, but I had promised to visit frequently to keep her company. Throughout these few days, we had only gotten closer, I suppose. As each progressed, she seemed less tense with me and more open. We would share more about each other just to keep talks going, but truthfully I was only curious about the life of this girl.

Every day after lunch I would come down to the third floor and bring her anything I could; food, clothes, even some books to keep her entertained. I was beginning to think I had been spending too much time with Lauren instead of the girls, but my reaching point would soon end if they were ever to question where I've been headed all the time.

But I wasn't worried about it yet.

"So did you ask Dumbledore about your last question before, you know..."

I look at her and nod, recalling the night before where she had trouble answering my question after he had awoken again. It happened every visit, but less frequently and later at night than earlier when I had first met her.

"Oh, yeah, yeah." I sit over her large dorm rest, popping a small lollipop into my mouth. "He wasn't very sure about answering any of the questions, to be honest with you. He would just find another way to swerve past them."

She chuckles, rolling her green eyes, "Typical of that old man. He's never really wanted me interacting with any of the wizarding staff or administration either, but I still don't get why."

I roll my eyes, laughing softly at her attempt at a joke. "Yeah, I wonder."

She sits up, tucking her journal back under her pillow, and looks up at me, a bit more serious now. "So...he didn't answer any of them truthfully?"

I'm taken back at her sudden curiosity, a certain look engulfing her features sadly. I nod, "Only one."

She nods. "Which one then?"

"I asked him what had happened to you after the ambush.." I pause, giving her a side frown, and deciding to continue with my eyes on my hands when I see her expression change completely. "He told me that you were special. That special people like you couldn't live in a world like this, where others could harm you because of how powerful you are."

She looks down at her wand and sighs, a thoughtful look on her face. "If I'm so powerful, why can't he just let me go? I can defend myself, Camila. I just don't want to be here anymore..."

I glance at the door and frown a bit, feeling bad for the poor girl. All she wanted was to be like the rest of them, and the more I thought it the more I realized, "Hey. You're just different. Just like me. We're different, Lauren; and that's okay. Maybe we should take care of each other for now, okay? Stick together maybe?"

She turns to look up at me from where she stood, placing her wand gently over the wooden desk beside her. "I like the way you think, Camila. I'll be willing to take care of you, with one condition."

I nod my head quickly, "Of course anything..."

She removes her black cloak, the thin material falling quickly down to the ground and pooling around her ankles. My eyes trail down her body, eyes widening at how beautiful she was even if she was wearing an acceptable amount of clothing. She was wearing a tight, sleeveless gown that clutched onto her hips and over her knees.

"I'll grant you a wish..." She pauses. "If you really want this to work...this, friendship, then you have to promise me something."

"O-okay." I swallow.

"Promise me you won't love me...ever. Whether it's the kind of love that you would call, friendship. Or whether it's falling in love with me...Don't get too attached."

I'm taken back by her request, but I decide to give her a complete answer so I just nod. Confused, I ask, "Why?"

Lauren shakes her head, playing with the golden gemstone ring on her slim finger after I ask the question. "Just don't, okay? This is just a way of protecting each other for the sake of being different from everyone else, right?"

I nod my head, "Yes, of course."

"Then just do what I say." She gives me a small smile. "Trust me, Camila."

I nod, still not understanding, but wanting to please the girl any way possible. I think about her approach, but I only confuse myself again. "Wait, what did you mean by granting me a wish?"

Her green eyes flicker over to the wand placed over scattered sheets on her messy desk. "Yeah, a wish. I'll grant you one."

I chuckle, "Why?"

"Because," She smiles. "You promised me something, right?" I nod briefly, watching her walk around the ancient desk. "I should be able to give you something in return. Like a thankful gift."

I laugh softly, furrowing both my eyebrows, "Okay? Sure."

I fiddle with my oversized, red robe, wondering why on earth she'd grant me a wish over some stupid promise. "Any wish?"

Lauren smile softly, "Don't get too creative, now. Just a small wish?"

I nod and she motions over, patting softly over the wooden stool next to be her large bed. I walk over slowly, sitting over the dark wood and taking a single glance at her wand.

"Place your hand over mine, then I'll cast a spell over it after you ask me for your wish, of course." She takes her wand. "Simple, huh?"

"I don't really know what my wish should be..." I scratch my eyebrow. "A small wish?"

She shakes her head, a genuine grin stretched across her face. "It was a joke. Any wish will do, even a great wish that could get me into loads of trouble if I do grant it to you. I'll grant it, don't worry. Come up with something cool. Be creative!"

I take a moment to look up at her and think of something I've always wanted for a while now. I try to come up with something understanding for her to grant me in return. But what?

What has been something I've dreamt of even as a child? I smile as I recall wanting my own wand, and casting my own spells. Wanting to turn some annoying kid into a frog, and make my friends laugh and smile. That's all I've ever wanted.

If she wanted to grant me a wish, could it be close to giving me powers for at least a day? I shake my head at the thought, but it lingers inside my head as she stares at me expectantly, raising a brow.

"Can you.." I trail off, sighing softly. "I- I...nevermind. It's really stupid actually, just forget I even asked."

"No, wait." She frowns. "You can ask me. Go ahead, I'll try my best to grant it, just try and ask me."

I sigh and look down at her wand, wondering if it was anywhere near being a good idea asking her such a thing. I bite my lip and look back up at her.

"I-.. I want you to give me enough powers to last me a day." I say softly. "Just one day..."

I'm afraid to look up at her when I hear her breath catch up quickly, the room going dead silent. I can see her from the corner of my eye, gripping onto her wand silently as she freezes completely.

Oh shit, was that wrong to ask?
