Justinan gathered his tuxedo jacket from off of the chair and turned around swiftly to face me. "Well?" I hummed softly to myself in response and grabbed another black jacket  from the closet. "The one you have on is fine, I suppose. It's just that it's more....plain, if you will."

He smoothed out the sleeves with one hand and stuck the other in his pocket, posing in front of the mirror. "I don't know, Sha-Nell, I really like this one."

Just as I was about to respond, his father walked in with an expression that could kill. Justinan and I exchanged glances and Jeremy cleared his throat. "Justinan, why were you late, my son? The dinner could've gotten canceled. Have you forgotten your duties as king of this county? You can't just run off to God knows where with the help. What about your reputation?"

Justinan sighed and walked over to the walk-in closet. He grabbed the double doors and shut them softly to hide the fact that I was in there. "Father, how many times do I have to tell you that I honestly do not care about the consequences you have set forth for me. I am the king and I do as I please. I'm also an adult that can make his-"

"...own decisions, I know. Spare me the speech, son. The press and everyone have already arrived and is more than willing to forgive you for your tardiness. Also, Lady Elizabeth is out in the living area waiting for you to escort her in. Just smile and hold a small conversation when the two of you walk in. That's all I'm asking of you."

"Then I can start my search?"

His father rolled his eyes and started off towards the door but Justinian was too quick for him. He slammed the door shut before his father had the chance to get out of there. "You are not leaving until you promise me that I'll get what I want if I do this thing for you. I'm not asking you, I'm telling you."

Wow, I thought. He must be seriously pissed now.

Jeremy cleared his throat and spoke in a hushed tone. "As you wish."

Lady Elizabeth stood tall as she hung closely to me by the arm. She linked our arms together and smiled widely as the press ate us up.

"Justinan, over here!" One woman shouted. "Lady Elizabeth! You'll make a fine queen!" Another one said. I mentally rolled my eyes and walked in the ball room. Instantly, we were bombarded with some of the Royal family's closest friends and family. "This is lovely, darling. I love how close you are to your people of France." Elizabeth said and batted her lashes.

"Yeah, sure-" I said and rushed through the crowd of people to sit at the head of our table. I pulled the chair out for Elizabeth and everyone at the table rose to their feet in respects for me. "Your highness," My uncle Jeffery said and bowed down. "I haven't seen you since you were young. How's the family?"

I motioned for everybody to sit down and they did. "Swell, if I must say so myself, uncle. How's yours?" I sat down in my chair and watched as his wife and son, Jason, argue back and forth over God knows what. "Well, we're great of course." He lied through his teeth and I chuckled. Yeah, great.

"Jason!" I shouted and he looked down the table at me with his normal devious grin. "What's up, cousin? Long time no see fam." His mother slapped him upside the head and whispered something about table manners. My mother also glared at me from two seats down where her and my father sat. Jazzy stood up and everyone turned their attention to her.

"I'm so honored to be standing in front of all of you, especially my family and closest friends. On behalf of the kids, Jaxon and I, I would like to welcome all of you to our palace and please make yourselves at home." She sat down and the crowd clapped for her. "Oh that was just dashing, my daughter!" My father praised her. "Always so sweet to the people of France."
