****                                                                    "Any idea on what he wants to talk about with me?" I asked Jaxon and he shrugged.
"No clue, sis. Maybe it has something to do with what happened between him and Jason." I nodded and we went our separate ways. Jaxon went to the right towards the staircase and I opened the door to the kitchen to see Justinan pacing back and forth. He seemed to be in a panic. When he spotted me he smiled and held his hand out for me to take.

"You needed me?" I asked and placed my hand in his. "Always. We have a lot of things to discuss and I couldn't think of a more perfect time to do so."

"Funny," I said and chuckled a bit. "I couldn't have thought of a more horrid time to ask me to speak with you."

"You're full of it." He mumbled under his breath. "Anyways, I wanted to discuss something very important with you that has to be taken care of."

Justinan never did this before so what made things so...so different now?

"I've been meaning to talk to you about the seasons ball." He said and walked me over to the balcony, which of course was his way of trying to persuade me into doing something completely ridiculous. "You're not slick." I said and held my finger up. "You know this is my favorite part of the house and you're asking me a favor in front of it."

"Touche-" He smirked, "But I was going to ask you if you would actually escort Jaxon instead of me. There's some business I have to take care of in Madrid before the holidays start to roll around and I'd rather not waste any-"

I cut him off. "Wait. You want me to escort Jaxon? What will the press believe! We have my grandmother who's terribly ill, my mother who I have yet to get in contact with, Jason leaving with Stormy, London being due any minute now, and my own health deteriorating right in front of me and you want me to escort Jaxon? Jaxon?" He shrugged.

"No." I tapped my fingers against my chin. "I will not. This ball isn't what's important to me right now and-"

"Nell, please. I have something that I need to do and won't be able to attend. Jaxon is next in line royalty and London will refuse to do it. You saw what happened last time she tried on a dress. I don't want her to have a meltdown again and bail on one of the most important nights." He sighed. "Guess I'll have to just miss out on..."

I stopped him mid sentence. Here he goes again, the guilt trip.

"I'm only doing this for your royal bloodline and ancestors. Grandma would want me to."

His eyes lit up tremendously and he engulfed me in a large hug. "Thank you, so much." He said. "You have no idea how much this means to me."

"Me too." Jaxon said from behind the kitchen corridors. I glared. "He's always snooping around this palace. We really should get our own guards around the east wing. They let anyone in nowadays."

Jaxon burst through the doors with London on his heels. "You two are so mean!" He huffed. London nodded, agreeing with him. "We were just coming to see if y'all wanted to go get some food but damn, never mind. We see where we stand."

Justinan and I turned to them. "We have people to do that for us." He said as a matter of fact. London brushed him off and turned to me. "Girl, I'm craving and Gin is elsewhere doing God knows what so you're my only other option."

Justinan raised his hand. "I take offense to that if she doesn't." Jaxon nodded, agreeing with him. "I second that."

"Y'all are instigators! It was a joke, damn. I'm leaving I can't be under this pressure. It's not good for my little almond nut."
