Chapter 6

Emma's P.O.V.

After about three hours of getting to know the rest of team Megan dragged me and Artemis to the local shopping centre. To be honest I hate shopping, i try to avoid it as much as possible but seeing as I only had the clothes that I was wearing I was absolutely desperate. So we got into Artemis's car and drove to the shopping centre because apparently it wasn't a good idea to use the bio ship (whatever the hell that was), anyway Artemis drove a Black Range Rover and it was awesome.

10 minutes later we arrived at the massive shopping centre. When we entered the building Megan said something
"So Emma where do you want to start." I looked at her looking a bit confused and then replied
"To be honest I haven't got a clue. All I know is that I hate the colour pink, high heels, skirts and dresses. So where do you recommend." Megan took a couple of minutes to think about her answer. She then answered "
I think that Artemis is best suited to answer that question. So Artemis where do you shop because you and Emma seem to have the same taste in clothes." Both me and Megan looked at Artemis waiting for her to answer then she did
"I tend to shop in places like selects, so we should start there." I nodded and then we walked over to selects.

When we got to selects I loved everything I saw. There were jeans, crop tops, leather jackets, hoodies and boots. Whilst walking around the shop I picked up a lot of clothes, Artemis and Megan did the same. When we were in the changing rooms Megan made us come out and show off are outfits. Reluctantly Me and Artemis agreed with Megan and with that we went to try are clothes on.

The first outfit I tried on was a pair of black ripped jeans, a grey top with a cool pattern on it, a denim jacket and a pair of heeled sneakers ( I know I said I don't like heels but I can make some exceptions for shoes like these). Artemis was wearing a normal pair of jeans, a white crop top with a dark green leather jacket and dark green doc Martens. Megan was wearing a pair of denim shorts, a black crop top, a white and black checkered shirt and a pair on red converse. Megan then made us stand in front of a mirror and took photos. This process the repeated for like an hour. When we were finished Megan insisted on buying me just about everything I tried on and then took me to get a new phone and some toiletries thanks to the money that batman gave us.

After about 3 hours of shopping Artemis got hungry so we went to one of her favourite restaurants, it was called belly burger. In my opinion it was this world's equivalent on Mcdonald's. I had a burger and some fries, Artemis had a double cheeseburger and some fries. Megan had a chicken burger and some fries and we all had a Coke. Whilst in the restaurant I thought to myself that even though I had really on been in this world for a day ( technically 3 weeks but I've only been awake for a day) I had found some amazing friends. I was in a world of my own until Megan spoke up
"Hey Emma, are we friends?"
"Yeah Megan we are and you can call me Em if you want." I saw happiness wash across Megan's face. I smiled and then looked down at my new watch and said
"look at the time shouldn't we be getting back to the mountain?" Artemis also looked at her watch and spoke up
"Yeah we should the boys are probably trashing the place." And with that we made are way back to the car and loaded it with the many bags that we had.

When we got back to the mountain Megan took me to the room I would be staying in and told me to leave my bags there and join them in the living room. When I went into the living room everyone was sitting around the TV laughing at a bruised Wally, after a little chuckle from me I asked him what happened and he replied
"I got my ass handed to me in training." That made me laugh a little harder. Then Wally turned to Megan and asked
"Hey Megan what's for dinner." Before Megan could even answer I spoke up and said
"we ate out. So I guess your having whatever you want." He looked at me a little shocked and confused like he didn't know how to cook. I then asked him
"Wally what's your IQ?"
" I've got an IQ of about 150. Why?"
"Ok so you have an IQ of 150 and you don't know how to cook." I looked at him and he nodded, I then got up and went into the kitchen, pulled out a packet of chicken noodles walked over to Wally and handed them to him then I walked over to the sofa and and said
"then you had better learn." Then everyone burst out laughing and Wally sunk back in his chair and started to pout.

After a few minutes of pouting he turned to Megan and said
"So you got any money left?" She the reached down into her bag and pulled out the remaining money Batman had given us and said
"Yeah, there's quite a bit left but it doesn't belong to me, technically it belongs to Em. I mean Batman gave it to us for her so that makes it hers." She then got up and handed the remaining to me, I took it from her and looked at Robin as if to see if it's ok. He then said
"Hey don't look at me. But he won't miss it if you kept it, trust me" and with that I put the money in my jeans pocket and sunk back it to my chair.

A couple of hours came and went and we were all laugh and joking around. Then Wally, Artemis, Kaldur and Robin had to go home and I went to my room to sort out the stuff that Megan had brought me. I hung up all my tops, put my jeans, pyjamas and other things in my draws and put all my toiletries in the bathroom. When I finished I got into a new pair of pyjamas and then settled down for my first proper night in a new world and thinking about my first session with Black Canary that was happening tomorrow. I then drifted off into a calm sleep but it was short lived thanks to a stupid nightmare I haven't had since I first lost my parents.

The Nightmare

I was standing in front of my parents and they had guns to their head. I tried to scream at them but I couldn't, I couldn't scream or move, I felt absolutely helpless. And then a black faceless figure stood behind them and pulled the trigger of the guns that were aimed at my parents. Their blood splattered across my face and tears ran down my face as I watched their now lifeless bodies fall to the ground. The moment the hit the ground I could move again so I ran to their bodies and screamed for them to wake up and to come back to me but all I heard was evil laugh from the faceless figure

I jolted and woke up soaked in sweat. I then brought my knees up to my chest, I didn't cry but I did it to calm my self, it was a trick I learn from Bruce to lower your heart rate whenever you're stressed. Once my heart rate lowered I went into the bathroom and splashed some cold water on my face then left to go into the kitchen to get a drink. Once in the kitchen I saw Megan sat in the kitchen reading a magazine and drink some hot chocolate. When she noticed me said asked
"Hey Em, you alright?" I rubbed my eyes and replied
"Meh, I just had a nightmare. What are you doing up?" She got up and got me a cup of hot chocolate and gestured for me to sit next to her, I nodded at her and then she answered
"I just couldn't sleep. When I can't sleep I come in here with a magazine and get some hot chocolate for a couple of hours before going back to bed. So you going to tell me what your nightmare was about."
"Not really up for it. So what you reading?" I looked down at her magazine then she said
"You know Canary will make you tell her about it in your session tomorrow. Anyway I'm just reading a fashion magazine." I rolled my eyes when she said she was reading a fashion magazine, she saw this and shut the magazine and said
"So you've met all the team what do think?" I looked at her confused but answer
"You guys are just like normal teenagers when you are off duty, it's just completely different to my life back home."
"What do you mean?"
"Back at home you were on duty 24/7 even when we're at school. You didn't really get a break. I mean I was team leader and everything so I was constantly thinking of new strategies so my team was better and worked as one."
"You were team leader?"
"Yeah. I had the most experience and I understood the protocol like the back of my hand so it was only logical to make me the leader.".

We spent the next 2 hours talking about are teams and the differences between both of are world and she also told me about her powers and her home world. Then we both went back to are rooms to try and get some sleep. I spent the rest of the night trying to get some sleep but I got a grand total of 3 hours sleep. Tomorrow's session with Black Canary would be interesting if I couldn't keep open long enough to talk.
