Kendra's POV:

I woke up with a bad feeling. That something close to me was going to vanish; separating itself from me.

I stood from my bed, and quickly dressed. I skipped out on my cloak, not bothering to pull it on. I shoved my feet into my boots and left the apartment.

-

Anakin sat quietly at the table as a plate of food sat in front of him, untouched. I rose a brow as I entered.

"Not hungry?" I asked, taking a seat.
He cleared his throat before focusing. "Oh, uh no." He answered.
I looked at him confusedly. "Anakin, what's wrong?" I asked.

He looked up at me, and for a split second, I sensed sadness.
"I have to tell you something." He said to me.
"Okay." I said, folding my arms over my chest as I leaned back into the chair.
He inhaled a breath before beginning to speak.

"The Chancellor has ordered Obi-Wan and I to leave Coruscant. He's assigned us to multiple battles throughout the Galaxy, and... I don't know when I will be back."

I could feel my heart beginning to sink inside of my chest.

That was the bad feeling.

I blinked a few times to stop tears from forming. "You're leaving?"

He nodded. "I don't want to leave, but I have to."

I swallowed the forming lump in my throat as tears blurred my vision.

"The thing with us.. It isn't going to work if I'm gone." He said, his voice fading at the last of his words.

I felt tears running down my face slowly. "I know."
He stood up from the table, and paced around. "I hate this!" He shouted.
I closed my eyes as he walked towards me.
"Look at me, Ken."

I opened my eyes to meet his as he stared at me.
He pressed his palm to my face. "You have the most beautiful eyes."

I looked away. "Don't do that."
"What?"
"You're pulling me in again, when you're leaving!" I cried. "Don't do this."
He frowned. "I'm sorry."

I stood up and he grabbed my face.

"This isn't a goodbye, Kendra." He whispered to me.
I nodded. "Yes it is."
He shook his head. "This is a goodbye for now."
I scoffed. "For now. Really, Anakin?"
"What am I supposed to do, Kendra? Tell the Chancellor that I'm staying so I can be with you and give everything up?"

I didn't answer, instead, I began walking towards the door.
"Kendra." He shouted.

I came to a halt and kept my hand on the door knob shakily. I sniffled as more tears slipped down my face.

I turned to see him staring at me, his eyes moist.

"You said it yourself," I began.

"Goodbye, Anakin."

Anakin's POV:

I sat on the ship as we waited for Obi-Wan. I couldn't help but think back to Kendra, and how we had left things.

I looked at the pilot. "I'll be right back."
I hurried off of the ship, and ran into the apartment building. I stopped when Kendra stood near the elevator.

"I was hoping we wouldn't leave things like this." She said to me.
I walked towards her and hugged her tightly. "I'm so sorry."
"Don't say that." She whispered.

I inhaled and exhaled before pulling away.
"Don't miss me too much, alright?" I said, watching her smile lightly.
"I'll try not to."

I stroked her hair before turning around, and hurrying outside and to the ship.

"I was beginning to wonder where you had gone." Obi-Wan said.
I sat back in my seat.

"I had to take care of something."
