The next morning,Jesse woke up early.She could tell that Lukas was half-awake.

Axel and Olivia's heads were touching.It was kinda cute.

Jesse looked around for Petra,and realised with a pang that she wasn't here.She was a wolf.

Someone else was missing,too.Amber.

Jesse went out of the shelter and saw Amber just sitting down,staring at the ground.

"Are you okay?"Jesse asked,walking over to her.

"No sleep."Amber mumbled.

She had dark rings under her eyes.

"Why not?"Jesse sat next to her.

"I worry too much."

"About Petra?"

"Mostly.I know she wouldn't worry if I went missing,but I still worry."

Amber closed her eyes.

"Maybe she shifted back?"Jesse suggested.

Amber opened her eyes.

"Maybe.We should go look for her!"Amber suggested.

"Okay.Can you track her like you did last night?"

"It depends."

"Depends on what?"

"Depends on whether nature lets me."

Amber was mysterious.Really mysterious.

Jesse left the rest of the crew a note so they wouldn't be worried,and then walked with Amber.Jesse could call this mysterious girl a friend.

"So,how do you track?"Jesse asked.That question had puzzled her since they had found Petra last night.

Amber shrugged."Nature.Faint footprints in the grass.Pushed away leaves.Flattened flowers."

Is that true? Jesse spared a glance at Amber.She was looking straight ahead.

"Why couldn't you track her in the river,then?"Jesse went further.

"She hadn't been in there fairly recently.There was no kicked up dust in the water."Amber explained.

Jesse frowned.There was something in Amber's voice that she didn't like.

They waded through the river again.

"Wait,can't we just howl?If Petra's still a wolf,she'll howl back."Jesse suggested.

"If she's human,she'll run away."Amber pointed out.

Petra running away?That was hard to imagine.

They walked around for an hour.

And Petra came to them.

"Jesse?"Petra stumbled through the trees toward them.

Her clothes were dirty,but free of the Endermen blood.

"Petra!"Jesse went and hugged her."Are you okay?"

"I'm fine.I can remember what I did last night,Jesse."Petra stared straight into Jesse's eyes."At first,I didn't know how to survive,but this light brown wolf showed me how to do everything.How to hunt.Build a den."

Petra's gaze slid to Amber.

"What's she doing here?"Petra growled.

"She helped me look for you.Last night and tonight."Jesse explained.

Petra hissed at Amber and she backed up a little.

"Petra,what is your problem with her?"Jesse's relief turned into confusion.

Petra ignored the question."I want to go back."

Jesse nodded.Petra took Jesse's hand and suprised her and Amber.

Amber got to close and Petra growled again.Amber raised her hands and backed up,something flashing in her eyes.

"Did you see any other wolves?"Amber asked.

Petra ignored her and Jesse started to lead her back.

"Are you just going to ignore me?"

Petra ignored her.

Seriously,what does Petra see in Amber that's so bad? Jesse wondered.

"So,what,am I an enemy now?"

"You are hating me right now,aren't you?"

"Or maybe you've hated me since you met me."

"Why am I even trying?"

Amber sped up and jumped the river.Petra did it too.Jesse tried to,but ended up falling in at the end.

"Oh my god,Petra!You're okay!"Olivia hugged Petra.

"How was it as a wolf?"Lukas asked.

"There was so much smells."Petra said."But it was like when I had amnesia.I couldn't remember who I was,only that I was a wolf and I had to survive.I only remembered who I was when I started shifting."

"Well,good to have you back."Axel laughed.

Olivia whimpered,remembering that she was a werewolf too.Amber walked over next to Jesse.

"So my predictions were right."She muttered.

"Yes."Jesse agreed."I'll go and board the door up while we figure out what to do."

Jesse went up to the door,but something white was outside.

Warily,she went outside.It was just a note.But who from?And how did it get here without anyone noticing?

Amber,please come back and be my tester again.

I have diamonds,many diamonds.

And I know who you are.I know who your new friends are.I can find them.

Jesse rushed back inside and showed Amber the note.

"Amber."Jesse said slowly."What is this?Again?You've been his 'tester' before?"

All attention went to Amber,who's eyes slowly widened,and she edged towards the door.

"Wait,hold on!"Amber choked out."It wasn't supposed to be like this!"

"Have you been hiding something?"Jesse asked.

But Jesse knew she had.

"I knew it.I knew she was hiding something."Petra hissed.

"It wasn't supposed to happen like this!"Amber choked out."But...I knew he would find me sometime."
