Chapt. 32 - Zoe

"What up nigga?"

I hugged Amiya as Dakari grabbed my leg then dapped AJ up as she showed Ursa and Zakai love.

"Go play. Watch your brother Ursa, don't leave him."

We watched the kids run off and AJ sat Dakari in his play pen with toys before placing a sheet over it.

"Hows the lady?"

I handed AJ her water as I shook my head.

"Man hell... She don't do shit, don't wanna work, and actually got the nerve to think Im gone let her strip."

"I told you bro, I told yo ass but you wanted to see the grass on the other side just cause the sex was good. Bro that's like in the certain neighborhoods you see dead grass, patches missing right? That's cause its real. But in other neighborhoods you see nice grass that's good all year round. That's cause its fake."

I thought about what AJ said. It makes sense, perfect sense.

"What you and Jas had was real. That's why in certain seasons it might not be as good looking as it was in the other season. That's why it had patches. Cause it wasn't perfect but it was real Zoe."

We watched Dakari lay down and grab his cup before dozing off.

"I miss her AJ. I just want to feel that touch that send chills down my spine. That kiss that made my body heat up. That hug that took all my worries away. Whit don't have none of that. She just got good sex. That's it."

AJ shook her head as she watched the kids play.

"You signed up for it cause you wanted yo 'family' back. The only family you had nigga was Jas, Ursa, Zakai, Nova, Jo, and Diamond."

I couldn't say shit cause she was right. She was dead on.

"You talk to Des?"

AJ shook her head.

"Only when its my time to get Dakari."

"You think they gone last?"

AJ shrugged her shoulders.

"Them girls love eachother on a level we'll never understand. Their in another world together Zoe."

My phone buzzed as we both sat silently thinking.

Jas: We're taking the kids to the beach next week. Can Zakai go?

"Jas just text me."

"Des just hit my line to. Want Dakari and Amiya to go to beach."

"She want Zakai but not Ursa."

Me: What about Ursa?

It kind of made me mad she didn't ask about Ursa. But I know Whitney not going for it. But then again, she probably will.

Jas: Don't try to start an argument. You know she can go. That's up to you and her mother.

Me: I miss you :(

Jas: Bye Zoe. Let me know if she can go. I have to get their bathing suits and towels.

Damn she dissed me.

But what should I expect.

"You good man?"

AJ smacked my neck causing me to jump.

"I said is you good?"

"Yeahh, yeahh Im good."

"Iight lets go eat, they'll be ready for naps soon."

I called the kids over, they happily came running.

"Where Zakai?"

Ursa shrugged her shoulders.

I took off running around the park.

"ZAKAI !! ZAKAI !!"

A little girl that was feeding the ducks screamed and pointed into the water at the lake.

"HE'S DROWNING !"

I ran full speed into the lake as AJ followed running full speed also.

I grabbed my son who face was already turning colors.

"We can't wait on an ambulance bro. Lets go. Come on."

A blonde lady ran our way.

"Lay him down. I know CPR."

We laid him on the ground and the woman did her thing.

"My husband already called the ambulance. They're on the way. Its best to wait, they have the proper stuff to keep him stable till he reaches the hospital."

Minutes later ambulance and police sped into the park near the lake as AJ texted Jas.

AJ text: Hospital now ! Ask no questions, be there !
