"Ouch!" You little shit!

I grab my leg and hop around on one foot as pain throbs through my leg. The little monster, Tristin, is at it again. He kicked me in the shin, and then ran off, laughing. It's the third time today.

"Tristin, come here, little guy. Would you like some candy?" I hop around the black leather couch, while trying to catch his arm. The little guy is fast, even though he's so small. It still surprises me. He's like some kind of tiny ninja.

He looks back at me while sticking his tongue out. "You can't fool me, lady. I know these tricks." He gets close to me, and right as I go to grab him, he takes off really fast and jumps over the couch, making it look effortless and easy.

He looks back at me laughing and starts jumping on the couch while his blonde hair bounces all around his cute, little evil face.

I knew I should've kept an old couch around, just for incidents like these.

"Tristin, stop jumping right this minute! I'm counting to three, and by the time I get to three, you better be off that couch, or I'm calling your mom!" I reach for his arm and trip over the shoelace of my Converse, landing on my face in a mostly empty plate of spaghetti that Tristin refused to eat for over an hour. "Oh... Gross. Come on! Would you stop and listen for once?" I push the plate away from my face and just lay here for a minute taking deep breaths. I know if I don't calm myself, I will blow up any minute and that's the last thing I want to do.

My patience is wearing thin. Very thin.

Tristin jumps off the couch, landing next to my head. It makes me jump back. "One... two... I'm getting close to three, you better clean up that mess before I get to three!" he mocks. "Okay... three!"

I jump up and run as fast as I can, grabbing the little pain in the ass by his foot, as I tumble back to the floor with him.

He looks at me with his long hair falling in his eyes and then starts kicking and screaming. The kid looks like he's being attacked by some maniac stranger.

"Tristin, stop it!" I grab his arms and legs and try holding him down from going wild. "Ok, I'm sorry, I'll get you some candy. I promise this time." Why do I always give in?

Tristin looks up at me while wiping a fake tear out of his twitching eye. "C-candy? I would like some candy, Kalise." He grabs my hand and we both get up.

Yeah, I'm sure you would, you little...

We walk by the staircase and I scream upstairs to my roommate, and best friend, Luna. "What's taking you so long, did you fall in or something? Or did your face fall off?" She's been in the bathroom for over an hour now, supposedly applying makeup. I know she does this on purpose so she can sit on her pretty little ass while I take care of the kids and do our job.

I slap a hand on the railing and just keep walking, so I can calm Tristin down, before he begins screaming his head off again.

When we get in the kitchen, I pick Tristin up and set him on the counter. He's five years old and very small for his age. I swear he's the cutest little snot blowing devil I have ever seen.

He reaches for the bowl full of candy with a sparkle in his little green eyes. "I want skittles!" he says as he starts searching through the bowl of candy, pretty much knocking everything out in his search for the rainbow. "I don't see any skittles... I want skittles!" He looks at me and frowns. "I said I want skittles!" He throws the bowl down and starts crying.
