CHAPTER 22 (Trainings and Ice-Cream)

Guren's PoV

I waited outside.
'Jeez, they're taking too long...I think they killed her...though...Shinya's there, he won't let Haru get killed...'

Speaking of the devil, there they are. A passed out 15 year-old and the silver-haired carrying her from her shoulder; he handled me the half-conscious Haru
"Brother Kureto did not stop torturing her, but he did spared her life; looks like he can't kill her without getting her to speak"
'She did a great job...but in the end...she still got hurt...'
"Guren...she got her memories back, haven't she? She called me 'Shin-san' without a doubt earlier. Hey, take good care of her...she's a nice girl that shouldn't get caught up in your problems" Shinya whispered before leaving

I carried Haru bridal-style then left the building. Shinoa and the others were waiting
"Haru!"
"Haru-chan!"

Haru's PoV
I kept hearing my name...
"Hey, hey wake up" It was Guren. I could hear his voice

My eyelids opened and the first one I saw was him; he had the 'Good-job-you-idiot' face. I could see the worry in his eyes. He set me down. My body was still numb through all of the shocks I had received but I can still manage to stand; though Guren still supports my back in case I lose my balance

Not long did my face get buried in 'racks'. They weren't flat so it's not Shinoa and she's a lot taller than me. It's my second time getting hugged by a girl (The first one who hugged me was Akane) but why would Mitsuba do such a thing so unusual? I mean. She hates me, right?
"You made us worry so much you idiot!"

She let go of me and punched me gently on my shoulder, even though it was just a playful punch, it still made me jump a bit. My body is still numb...I guess, we are team mates and I must've worried her and everyone else a bit too much
"I'm...sorry...for worrying you all...again..." I said as I catch my breath
Yuu put his arm around my shoulder and knuckled my head "You sure do that a lot!"
"I bet you nearly died there, Nakagawa"
"Yeah right, it was a breeze...I heard you were the one who nearly died after getting stabbed in the shoulder"
"Oh yeah? You wanna bring it?"
I punched his left shoulder. He cringed in pain "Damn you..."

Guren's PoV
They had a chat for a while. I recalled what Shinya said earlier...
Maybe I am mixing her with my problems. I shouldn't have turned that monster into a demon; now if anyone from the army or vampires find out, they'll use her for experimentation; and I'm guessing the vampires had a hint of what's with her...I can't let that happen...no matter what...

-Next Day-

Haru's PoV
I was back at Guren's home; he's been resuming my past training; though I'm supposed to help and watch Yuu and Kimizuki do their training on demon possession. If only Guren didn't forced me

-Flash Back-

"Why? I still need to help the others on their training. I'm going to do mine, too"
"I can help you do yours, they can do the training themselves. I only ask for a small favor, I'm not like this very often"
"...But I want to help the others"
"I'll treat you some desserts"
"Deal"

-End of Flash Back-

Got tricked by some sweet treats which I think he doesn't have any-
"I'm back"
My eyes widened. ICE-CREAM!!!!!
"Have as many as you like, I did told you I'll treat you"
"WHERE DID YOU GET THESE???"
"Stole it from the army"
"You should do that often" I swallowed a spoonful "Anyway, what did you want?"
"A duel"
I almost choke on ice-cream "A duel?! That's all!? Can't you find a better time for that?"
"Now is the better time for that"

The duel ended. It was no surprise that Guren won. He sat on the grass looking at the night sky
"Can I go now?"
"No, sit with me for a while"
I don't know what's with him but I'll just do what he wants quickly so I can go check on the others
"Hey, Haru...do you love me?"
"What kind of question is that!?"
"I just want to-"
"Of course I love you...idiot"
He stared at me with 'the' face
"B-but not in the kind of love that you're thinking!" I looked away " If you weren't there when I escaped the city, I wouldn't have been alive right now...you took care of me, treated me; even though you left me, and I hated you for that...I still...I still can't seem to dispose you out of my life. And now, learning that we're actually blood-related, is kind of complicated..."
"Then are you saying that...you had feelings for me?"
"NO! I'm not interested in anything other than getting rid of a certain noble, getting Mika back, and protecting my family"
"Are you sure about that? You're not even interested...in this?" He raised a brow and held another ice-cream. I took it
"M-maybe, even sweets"
"That's the last one I got...can you-"
"Nope, I don't plan on giving you some"
"Eh? Even though I was the one who got you that...Hey...you"
He leaned over to me "W-what are you...doing?" I started to back away. He was inches near my face "G-Guren...stop..." I closed my eyes; not wanting to see what will happen. I felt his arms wrap around me from my back, he leaned closer again and...licked my cheek
"You had ice-cream on your cheek" He whispered
I looked at him flustered and embarrassed
"Hmm...best flavor so far"
"You sneaky little- you're making me feel weird all over again!" I flushed red and pushed him away
He chuckled "Anyway, I am going to help you achieve your goal. That's why I wanted you here; to train you"
I stared at him for a second. I smiled "...Sure...can I go now?"
"Yup, that's all I wanted"
...
'Haru, do you remember what you just did last time when you were saving a little girl from a Four Horsemen of John?'
"You mean when I fought off those vampires with those blue flames? How did I do that?"
'With my power, you'd be able to cast spells like those. They offer a great help in fighting vampires'
"Cool! Teach me!"
'Meh, you'd be able to do it the second time and around with my help. I'll show you more cast spells stronger than the last time'

-Time Skip-

I finally saw where they were. Kimizuki and Yuu seemed to have succeeded with theirs. I jumped in to surprise everyone
"Let me join in the fun!"
I draw out my weapon "Daitan! Release Hell's Beast: Cerberus!"
A huge three headed dog interrupted their fight
"Haru-chan!" -Yoichi
"Woah! That's so cool, Haru" –Yuu
"Look who ruined the fun" –Kimizuki

I stood before them
"I thought we were going to fight!" I pouted
"Yeah, you came so it's over" -Kimizuki
"Huh? Are you trying to pick a fight with me?" –Me
"You bet I am!" -Kimizuki
"I'm on your side, Haru!" -Yuu
"Now, now, let's set this aside, you three" -Yoichi
...
"Shinoa, that was..."
"Yes, they tried to use their special abilities that they normally wouldn't be able to"

"Haru and Yoichi both succeeded in manifestation without training, too...How did Lieutenant Colonel Guren gather them?"
