CHAPTER 32 (Reality in Dreaming)

3rd Person's PoV
As the possessed ravenette stood there in silence, looking at the lifeless girl now on the ground ahead of him, her blood dripping from his blade; the angel spurted a huge black-and-red creature from its back and summoning Four Horsemen of John.

"HARU!!!"

Yu fell to his knees next to the corpse beside him. Mika forced his way to get to the two; his body, tired and injured from fights. Guren watched the scene unfolding right in front of him. His sword dropped from his hand. He received a powerful punch on his left cheek
"H-how...how could you!? She's your sister! Damn it!"

Punches one after another; Yu stopped, banged his balled fists into the other man's chest while his tears kept coming
"Hey...tell me...this is just a dream, right? I'll...I'll wake up sooner and all of this would be nothing but a forgotten nightmare, right? RIGHT???" He faced the man, clutching his uniform "And...and Haru will...she'll be back to herself...she'd still be alive...everything will be back to normal...as if nothing had even happened..." He grits his teeth and looked down; cursing "Please...I want to wake up already!"
"This is no dream, nor fantasy, Yu, this is reality. Everything is real. This is for the better good of humanity, learn to accept that. Your family's in trouble, chaos is there wherever you look, that creature is real; no one can defeat that...and...Haru's dead...I killed her...I...I killed her..."

Guren reached out for his sword. Yu faced him and saw his face in tears "Guren..."
Before the pointed red blade touch him; Mika plunged into action and pulled Yu away and far from the man.

Guren crouched beside the girl. Grabbing and gently combing a lock of her dark hair; while doing so, he stared at his blade seeing the scarlet color drip. He couldn't help but grin and chuckle out of sanity
"This is your blood, right?"
His hand travelled down to her face "Everything you did...what a waste..." Tracing her jaw with his index finger, stopping at her lip "...You look so peaceful now..." He cupped her cold cheek "...Poor you..."
Staring more at the girl's details, Guren knelt and arranged her position. Four Horsemen of John were coming their way

"It's all over. The horrible stories all end now!"
Yu was now the one carrying Mika by the shoulder. He kept looking back
"Yu...we need to escape from here" His tears were flowing
Yu tsk-ed "I'm getting Haru back"

A Four Horsemen of John surprised them from the left. Mika was the first one to sense its approach; he released from Yu and made the first swing, but, with his unstable state, he stumbled back and met the ground. Yu finished it off. Mika didn't have the strength to keep up. Yu knelt beside him
"Mika! W-what can I do? Do you need blood to recover?"
"I-it won't help. I can't recover within these barriers"
"Then what?"
"You can't do anything. No one can take down that demon. Go, retrieve Haru. We can't leave without her, hurry and save your family..."
Yu stood "I just need to kill that monster, right? That'll save everyone"
"I've always been telling you two to use your heads. No one can do that"
"...I'm not the same as I was back then...Me and Haru...both of us were invincible and...everyone knows that a family wouldn't be complete with a missing member. If only everything that had happened today would just be another horrific nightmare. I guess...things don't always work as I want them to..." He went for a vampire's gear
"Yu?"

(Well, you all know where this is going :/)

-After defeating the demon of destruction-

3rd Person's PoV
"You wouldn't go down that easily, wouldn't you? I mean, you do have a demon times stronger than mine, or is he just being a chicken? Or did you-"

"I'm thankful...for...for having you as a friend and a brother...I'm sorry for leaving
you..."

"Please...please take care of yourself and my family..."

"I love you, Guren-nii..."

Every last bit of his memory with Haru appeared him at a motion, he fell to his knees, hands on his face, river of salty water, body; numb and pale, his eyes returned back to normal. All of his emotions flood through his body

What have I done?

The very question to him, feeling as if dozens of needles impaled him and all the life in him got drained.

There he is...where all he could do is sob and repent. There is nothing he can do to get his precious sister back; whom he, himself caused for his mourning

Mika's PoV
After Yu was taken by his comrades, I begged Krul to turn Haru into a vampire. I did not know any way to bring her back to life. It was the only choice, I want her alive.

We approached Haru's brother. Krul pulled me back when the man suddenly attacked
She kicked his blade away and locked him down "Look, Mahiru's Messenger, I'm here to help your dead sister. If you won't step aside, time will run out"
"And why should I trust you?"
"Do you prefer her dead?"
Guren bit his lower lip; looking away
"I know you wouldn't want your sister to turn into a vampire, but is it better if she's dead? Start weighing your options here"
"Why are you doing this? I'm sure there's something up your sleeve, Krul Tepes"
"Could you please just let her revive Haru!? This is hard for us! I, myself don't want her becoming a monster like me, but if that saves her life then what choices are there? While you're arguing here, time keeps running. If we're late then it's pointless to try to help her now! Even if she were to become a vampire just to live, then she should lick the dust and survive! She was the one who said that. We'd always be family no matter what we become! So please...I don't want her dead! You should consider better being her brother!" I intercept, my eyes were watery but I kept it in

He tsked and moved aside. Krul made her way; hurrying before Haru gets lost...but...before she could get to her body. A blue tower of strong power emit from the lifeless girl. Everyone's attention turned to our direction
"What the- what's happening to her, Krul?!"

"...It's.........her demon..."

We're getting closer to the ending now ;-;
