CHAPTER 34 (Two Sides of the Same Coin)

A blue tower of strong power emit from the lifeless girl. Everyone's attention turned to our direction
"What the- what's happening to her, Krul?!"
"...It's.........her demon..."
"What about it?"
"We were late, her demon collided with her soul to prevent the body from dying; she's alive...though...she's half-demon; a complete one to be exact. We should go far from this area before things get worse; we'll retrieve her after her rampage outburst"

The girl stood; her hair as white as snow, her eyes were bloody red; full of bloodlust, her skin never got any paler, and her teeth grew sharpened fangs. She emitted more blue flames. It started walking the direction where the vampires and JIDA are...

The soldiers that were after Shinoa and the others; stopped, even the squad itself

"That's...Haru's flame!"

Guren cursed; thinking that Daitan took-over his sister's life for his revenge on the people who experimented on him. It slays soldiers and vampires that blocks its way and was trying to get to the Lieutenant General Kureto Hiragi; who was raging with anger

"Lieutenant General, will you fight?" Aoi asked
"There's no point in fighting that demon. CAPTURE IT! I'll make sure to 'teach' that demon a lesson after she returns back to normal. AS FOR GUREN, CONFINE HIM! GET THEM BOTH! I knew they were hiding something, they'll pay for those lies..."

Now Kureto would know they both lied to him; he needs to stop Haru before it gets deeper within the crowd, the problem is...with the situation she's in, it'll be impossible to get in-contact with the real her. That was until he noticed something 'odd' with the demon...

...It was crying...

'Could it be that...she's not possessed?'
If that's the case, there's a possibility that he could still get Haru back to her senses! His feet acted before his thoughts
'No, don't do it, Guren, you'd hurt yourself' -Mahiru
"I'm used to getting hurt; pain is my best friend"

He jumped right at the tower of blue flames and hugged the girl; his skin felt like it was on fire but kept clinging into the girl. She stopped walking; the blue flames got weak; she started mumbling some words

"He...he's gone...Guren-nii...let me...let me kill him...they're the real monster...let me kill them all...they must die...all of them!"
"GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF! HARU! You're being overpowered by your anger! SNAP OUT OF IT!"
"I...I can't, brother...it hurts...I want to make them pay! They need to suffer! They need to be sent to HELL!" She was stepping forward; the blue tower strengthen again
"Stop, Haru! This is not you-"
'Stop yelling; that doesn't comfort her. Sing her a song while rubbing circles at her back' -Mahiru
'Are you serious!? Can't I just kiss her to calm her? Aren't you the reason why she died in the first place!?' -Guren
'Yeah, yeah, whatever...I'm giving you help now, aren't I? Giving physical affection wouldn't solve the situation she's in, we're not in Assassination Classroom; doing that'll only make her more aggressive...just sing her anything' -Mahiru
'But I don't sing!' -Guren
'Do you want to save her or not?' -Mahiru
'...Alright fine.........Don't you dare laugh...' –Guren

The tower went away, she kept sobbing in my chest while I draw circles at her back to calm her down
"Hey, stop crying, come on...let's get out of here"

I couldn't move; I cling to her small figure; her physical appearance still isn't changing. I guess this is the side-effect of jumping right at that unknown flame she emitted. Cutting myself didn't work; guess it wasn't some paralysis. Must be some sort of poison...

I caught a glance of her teammates and the blonde vampire without Krul, the vampires were fighting with most of the JIDA and Kureto with some of his men were not too far away in our direction. I wouldn't have the time to run away especially if I can't move myself

"Can you move, Haru? If you can, go run to your squad. The JIDA are coming; they're definitely here for us. Escape while you can" Her head hang low and had that lifeless pale face "Are you still not back to your senses?"

Tsk...this won't end well...

Ah, it's over, they're here. She's getting taken away from me again; she isn't doing anything, as if I'm seeing the Haru I used to know; at that time, at that place, that date...Kureto had that look on his face that could send a person down to flames in an instant...

Jeez, it's been 8 years and that scene gets in me until now...we're getting separated...are we going to live without each other again? What if she loses her memory once more? What if this time, we'll never see one another...for a whole lifetime? What can I do? What can this dumb worthless idiot do?

We were both brought to Kureto, a soldier dropped me to my knees; his hand gripping on my raven hair; pulling it up to make me look ahead while Haru was in the hands of Kureto. He slammed her head; face down to the hard cemented floor, ending with a crack on the ground; her face was stained with her own blood, her wound healed quickly. He kept repeating it over and over

'Why isn't she doing anything!?'

"This is what I tell you...You'd regret ever lying to me. You're immortal but you can still feel pain, right? Would it help if I do this-" He punched her right in the stomach. She choked up blood

I kept gritting my teeth. I couldn't take it anymore...I reached my boiling point
"FIGHT BACK, HARU! Don't let them get the better of you! Remember your family! Your friends! Your comrades! FIGHT BACK-" I received a kick to my gut
"...Nii..."
"What? Are you going to play the hero again? Haven't you had enough?" He dodged her high kick

They started battling; Haru was at a complete different level than before. Her blade was able to cut the man's skin; but, what irritates her is that Kureto has that smirk on his face

"Will you look at that...your 'friends' have came back for you" They both stopped "Aoi" He signaled

"SOLDIERS, KEEP THEM ON HOLD!"

Some men came to the direction Shinoa Squad was. They fought but the enemy has them far by number; they were captured and were lined up with Guren. The soldier's blades were placed each at their necks

Haru growled at Kureto "Fight back and one-by-one their throat's would be slaughtered"
"What do you want!?" She spat

Kureto chuckled "Simple; become my weapon"
