Chapter Thirteen:

Selena’s POV:

“Selena, wo—would you be my girlfriend?”

That sentence. Those words. Those 5 words, I’ve been waiting forever to hear.

“Yes Justin!” I smiled. Justin smiled also and we leaned back in giving each other a kiss. Before the kissing could get out of hand, I had to pull away even though I didn’t want to—but we had kids in the back.

“Even though I don’t want to go I have to. I don’t want Brian to come out here with his shot gun.” I said.

“He—he really wouldn’t shoot me would he?” Justin said nervously.

“No, of course not.” I smiled. But knowing Brian—I hope he wouldn’t. “I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?” I said.

“Okay.” Justin replied. I gave him another quick kiss and grabbed my school bag and the bag that had my costume in it before getting out of the car, and reaching in the back seat to pick up Gracie. I placed her on my hip and she wrapped her arms around my neck  then I grabbed her backpack and said a last goodbye to Justin before walking inside the house.

I said a quick hi to Brian, but noticed not only was Brian home, but so was my mom.

“Hi parents.” I smiled.

“Hey Hun.” My mom smiled.

“I only saw dad’s car, where’s yours?”

“It’s in the shop.”

“Oh.”

Brian came over to me and took Gracie from my arms, saying he was gonna take her upstairs and put her in bed.

“Selena, why don’t you come sit with us for a while.” My mom smiled patting the spot next to her. “We hardly get to spend time with each other because your dad and I work like crazy.”

I smiled in return and sat down next to her just in time for Brian to come back in the living room sitting on the other side of my mom.

“So where have you been all day?” Brian asked.

“Justin took me and the kids to Gattiland.”

“Oh well that’s sweet.” My mom smiled. “Are you sure you two are ‘just friends?”

“Honey, remember Selena is going back out with Colton.” Brian snorted.

Just a fact, my parents, never was a big fan of me dating Colton.

“Actually—I broke up with Colton today at school.” I spoke up.

“Oh my, what happened?” My mom said, acting shocked, but I knew deep down all she wanted to do was jump for joy.

“I caught him cheating on me, again.” I sighed.

“Sweetie, I’m sorry.” My mom said rubbing circles on my back.

“It’s okay. I’m great actually.” I said. “I finally realized Colton wasn’t the right one for me.”

“And who is right for you then?”

“Justin.” I said. “And we’re actually dating now.”

“But didn’t you just get out of a relationship this morning?” Brian questioned.

“Yeah. I know, but I know Justin will never hurt me. He’s different. A good different.” I smiled.

“Well I’m happy for you Selena. Now me and Brian will like to meet this Justin soon.”
