Kaede was curled into your side, sleeping peacefully.
You however stayed awake and motionless staring at the ceiling.
You just wanted Kaneki back.
You missed teasing him and laughing at him, you even missed all of the insult battles you two had.
Your bed, the couch, how good the takoyaki he made tasted, even though he couldn't eat or taste it.
You missed absolutely everything about him, and somehow, you were afraid that you'd forget.
Maybe he'd forget too, and you'd just be two lonely souls who never saw each other again.
Maybe he'd never get to meet Kaede or be happy again.

How were you supposed to escape this place then?
In the back of your mind, you knew the answer to that last one.
You wouldn't.
You'd stay here, with Ayato and rot.
Maybe they'd take pity on your poor tortured and unloved soul an eat you.
Small tears left their mark on your face for the second time today, as you thought of your love.
In all of the princess movies, love is what drives them.
